watch Cspan for awhile and see who calls who Senator and who calls who Sir or Ma'am- they call the Men "Senator"...

the guy who did this obviously doesn't get it...

this is a perfect example of sexism, and will help Boxer even tho she's running against a woman because women will be rightfully angry and go out and vote for her.......

my wife is a Doctor, and i am very aware of how this issue will really play out..

i don't think that ad is very smart tho, watch Cspan for awhile someday... Male Senators are called Senator and that line from the Miltiary about calling peeeps Sir is BS...

even Al Franken gets called Senator when he is totally thrashing this oil co exec:

It would be nice if ego was left out of it though. Being called ma'am isn't a put down, at least not where/how I was raised.

Calling someone sir or ma'am shows respect to ones elders in my book.

Possibly. I guess Boxer just let her arrogance slip out her mouth. Hopefully Carly expresses more humility than that.

it wasn't arrogance. it was her calling an employee into line... and make no mistake about it, the military is an employee of the Congress.

and the day the Military forgets that will be a very bad day for this country...

try to find me a case where a Military Rep in Congressional hearing where the Military is in trouble (yes) and they do not use the proper term...

i looked at five or six and all of them used the proper term...

i really do not like Boxer, i would vote against her if i was in Cali....

esp when it comes to gun views, but for crying out loud, this is bullcrap.

it is a lie that Military peeps are instructed (or that it is protocol) to speak to the Congress as sir o ma'am...

and i am sick of all the damn lying.

one thing that was ground into our heads form the first day of bootcamp and on was to never ever complain to your Senator or Congressperson if you have a complaint without first takingit thru your chain of command.. the Military has a great deal of respect for Congress.

even here? she addresses another Senator as Senator and calls Gore by his title, the Vice president even the he was no longer Veep (which is also protocol)
