Actually there was just a special on the news about smoke alarms. There were three types. Ionize, Photo Sensitive and the third was a combo of the two. Ionize is designed to detect a rapid flame fire. Photo sensitive is designed to detect smoldering fires. Ionize are the cheapest you can buy the ones most people buy. anyway on the special they had all three mounted to a mock up ceiling and started a smouldering fire the most common home fire to occur. The Photosensitive went off in 20 minutes, the combo went off in 22 minutes and the ion went off in 55 minutes. Point is don't buy a Ion only smoke alarm purchase a combo unit. Funny thing is I just purchased one for the house I have been building and bought the cheapest one. Wish I had saw the news special before I had purchased. Look on the package for an "I" or a "P" that will tell you the difference.

The only way anything is ever going to get worked out is with DIALOG.
The comparison has been made before, but why did bush think that putting missiles in Poland was any different than them putting missiles in Cuba?
Communism is alive and well in Russia. I spent almost six months there in '08. The people are protected from the media. They hear what the Gov. wants them to hear.
We had three English speaking channels on TV. When one of them reported Sh*t the Gov. did not like the channel went down for Two to Four Weeks. That was 33% of my sanity gone. Russia Today, BBC and USA today all repeat there info like every 30 min. but I still wanted the voice to listen too.
It is a whole new topic to talk about Russia and the people but to make it short, My very limited exposer to the people and the culture firmly leads me to believe that the Gov. would think nothing of sucking all the money and resources out of the people to defend their country. And the people, they would gladly comply because they believe what they are told. You are not going against the Gov. your going against the whole Country. And this would be way before and kind of conflict occurred.
I am not saying not to stand up against them. But you have to have thought it most of the way through and more than anything you have to continue communication.
Putin changed the rules to stay in power.
The people I met on the shop floor and in the board room were very smart,way more resourceful than we are, intelligent, and most of all proud people. Not unlike Canadians or Americans. They have been kept in the dark more than us, but then again so have we.
Look at it from a different prospective. Some of the most successful people are good speakers. They sound good. They are pleasant to listen too. They Don't offend you. Eventually you sit back and relax and listen to what they have to say. You do not have to agree with it, and if your a leader you tell them that and wait for a response.
A long time ago a teacher of mine told me that "If you are talking then you are not listening, and there fore you are not learning." Not sure where he got it from but i like it.
Left or Right, Dem or Rep, Lib or Con, Religious or Not, communicating with anyone for any reason is not wrong. It is just an attempt to convey to the other to your line of thought and to understand theirs.
