this needs its own thread cuz it's not really about FACTS or TRUTH
it's really about simple psychology and the human condition.
One day the Sec Tres, speaking as he or she always does- for the President, whoever he or she might be, stands up in a press conference and says, we need about half a trillion bucks or the banks are all going to fail.
The President and his Sec Treas just happen to be opposite the political party that's in control of the House and Senate.
It doesn't matter whether the Sec Treas is telling the truth, or why he asked for the money anymore.
What matters is that he publicly stood up and announced this "need". By simply announcing it, he created the absolute need for it whether there was one prior to his announcement or not. That's just the human condition, and there's absolutely no escaping it.
The House and Senate Minority who are in the same party as the President can object all they want. If they win in their objections? No bailout is offered? the Majority party in the House and Senate will be blamed by the historians. Nobody will remember or give two chits that the minority pushed for the refusal. The President and his henchman can stand up and blame it all on the House and Senate. They asked for and were refused the bailout money, the crash happens. The minority in the House and Senate has the LUXURY of being able to talk a lot of crap and doing NOTHING because they DO NOT MATTER. They are irrelevant loud mouth jerks with nothing to lose cuz they already LOST EVERYTHING THEY HAD in the last election!
and quite frankly it looks alot to me like they would like to see everything fail as much as possible just so they can run for office as not being as "bad" as the other guys... that's pretty darn sick IMO..
