Word War: Rush Limbaugh Fires Back At Colin Powell

This past week, an interesting Republican spat has erupted between the party's conservative and moderate flanks. The leader of the former is none other than Rush Limbaugh, the talk show host who has never held public office. The latter group is represented by retired Gen. Colin Powell, our former Secretary of State. The feud began when, in an interview with CNN's Fareed Zakaria, Powell singled Limbaugh out as an example of all that is wrong with the modern-day GOP.
Limbaugh circled his wagons in response to Powell's attack, telling his listening audience:
Colin Powell, ladies and gentlemen, insists that conservatives and Republicans support candidates who appeal to minorities like I guess McCain who led the effort for amnesty. He insists that conservatives and Republicans move to the center like McCain, who calls himself a maverick for doing so. General Powell insists that conservatives and Republicans provide an open tent to different ideas and views, like I guess McCain, who repeatedly trashed Republicans and made nice with Democrats. I mean, their tent's big, they just don't want us in it. John McCain is and was Colin Powell's ideal candidate. All these moderates, Bill Weld, all these moderates that crossed the aisle and voted for Obama, they got their ideal candidate, and they got their ideal campaign in McCain. Once McCain was nominated as the Republican candidate, largely by independents and Democrats voting in Republican primaries, Colin Powell waited 'til the last minute, when it would do the most damage to McCain and the Republicans and endorsed Obama. And when I said it was largely about race, that's what set 'em all off, you're not supposed to say these kinds of things. This is supposed to go unspoken.
That's classic Limbaugh. A dizzying string of willful inaccuracies, half-truths, and revisionism all proving the central point that Rush, once again, is the victim of a liberal conspiracy. To claim that Democratic crossover votes were responsible for McCain's victory is more than a little disingenuous, and not supported by hard evidence. After all, Mitt Romney won Michigan, the state where all those Democratic votes were supposed to help McCain. Moreover, McCain picked Sarah Palin as his running mate to appeal directly to the more conservative elements of the party. That was no "move to the center."

that's laughable.
it was rush who sent his ditto heads to vote for hillary, not the other wayaround.
furthermore? waht does dittohead men? repeating what the "boss" said without question?

rush thinks his own listeners are idiots.
you rush followers are being led around by the nose.
rush wants everybody to agree with everything he says even tho most of it is just not reality...
Obama beat McCain and he beat him soundly with broader appeal.
in a Democratic Republic? the most voters still wins, even with an electoral college. Bush V Gore was an abnormality.
the "moral majority" is neither. i watch all these "conservatives" supporting casino gambling and wonder what "conservatism" really means anymore anyway...
and what is it rush does when he goes to the Dominican Republic?

Following up on the Rush Limbaugh Viagra bust post from yesterday, I managed to do a little research on the sex trade in the Dominican Republic. Apparently I've been living under a rock for the last several years (okay, I've been happily married for the last 24 years, which, when it comes to this subject, is just like living under a rock...)
It turns out, to my surprise, that the Dominican Republic, of all places, is ground zero for the sex trade in the Western Hemisphere, as this Google search illustrates: There are over 542,000 hits for the words "dominican republic sex tourism" -- and many of those sites refer specifically to child prostitution, such as this one and this one.
Limbaugh joked about the search on his radio show Tuesday, saying Customs officials didn't believe him when he said he got the pills at the Clinton Library and he was told they were blue M&Ms. He later added, chuckling: "I had a great time in the Dominican Republic. Wish I could tell you about it."
what part of his discussion on the topic is conservative?

That is kinda sick actually. I wouldnt even joke about somethign like that.
However, liberals would probably encourage sex tourism as "freedom from being oppressed by the evil right christian movement" you know..something some on ehre would say.
Heck, they tried to legalize prostitution in san fran for crying out loud! The liberal judges dont even go hard on sex offenders in vermont!!! its a joke! its sick!

Of course Limbaugh fires at Powell Rush is a draft dodger and powell is a military man .
Rush the fat dopper is a conersvative half wit that knows nothhing.
Powell came to his senses and supported Obama. He wants nothing to do with sick twisted minds of the likes of Limbaugh any more.

What is wrong about legalizing prostitution?
At least you could control it to some degree and it would be a lot safer
