""The Bush administration has had eight years in office and has issued more regulations than any administration in history," said Eli Lehrer of the Competitive Enterprise Institute. "At this point, in the current economic climate, it would be especially harmful to push through ill-considered regulations in the final days of the administration.""

"The Bush team has urged that these regulations be issued no later than Saturday, so they can be put in effect by the time President George W. Bush leaves office on January 20.

If they are in effect then, it will be hard for the next administration to undo them, and in any case, this may not be the top priority for a new president, said Matt Madia of OMB Watch, which monitors the White House Office of Management and Budget, through which these proposed regulations must pass."

"Even some free-market organizations have joined conservation groups to urge a moratorium on last-minute rules proposed by the Interior Department and the Environmental Protection Agency, among others."

Although these prolly won't get through. Gotta admit, it's another nice scare tactic against Obama.

"scare tactic against Obama"

No, much of it may indeed get through and it isn't at all true that "these prolly won't get through"

I think it is a threat to the world and can't figure how it can be considered as a scare tactic to use against Obama.

Nice????

OK!

We now have confirmation that dubya's latest efforts are bad for the world.

But no one can actually be surprised, either that dubya wants to crap on the world or that ignorance is on his side.

Believe it or not Pagan, there are more than 3 Christians in this country. Every week, there are hundreds of Christians at just my church. The reason that you don't realize it is that Christians have been silent for so long. In my opinion, it's time they wake up and take back this country from the noisy atheists.

i notice there's no response from PM on my assertion.

Luke 6:34-35 (New King James Version)

34- And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back. 35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.

[Matthew 7:1 & 2.] Do not judge, lest
you too be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged and with the measure you use, it will be measured to
you.

[Matthew 22:21] Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the
things that are God's.

[Matthew 6:6 & 7] And when thou pray, thou shall not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in
the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
But thou, when thou pray, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret…

there's alot more in there too...

Glass,

Jesus was not a liberal or a socialist. The bible is against murdering (including unborn babies); is against homosexual behavior; against laziness; and against atheism. That doesn't sound liberal to me.

Moreover, how about Biden who says it is patiotic to pay higher taxes to help the middle class, and yet his own charitable giving to help the needy is almost non-existent! He wants to help with MY money but not his own!

PM, why are you so focused on lazy people? if it troubles you so much? get another job. you aren't talking to lazy people here...

the politics of religion are more evil than even theft. as for the unborn babies? show me the specific addresses to the issue, and don't tell me they didn't do it "back in the day", the Egyptians were doing it in 2500 years BC...

against atheism? LOL. you are truly clueless. why did God give us a choice? think about that for a few years and get back to me.

and in the meantime? don't forget to Render unto Ceasar. [Wink]

show me one time Jesus promised his people earthly rewards. just one.

Biden hasn't suggested you pay more taxes, contrary to your claim.

He and Obama have only suggested that the gift awarded to the filthy rich by the republicans so that the middle class would end up paying a higher portion of the taxes collected by the Federal Government be ended.

In that way, you rich folk will go back to paying your normal share that Reagan alloted to you and, with that money returned to the Treasury (that was taken from the middle class by dubya's fiasco), thereby, offset lowering the taxes of the middle class.

I'm sorry your mental faculty is not sufficient to understand, but there is nothing I can do about it. You are what you are. It clearly is part of God's will.

Jabez, that is if you believe in the trinity g.

(God the Father, Son, Holy Ghost - 3 in 1).

What about raising from the dead? Longevity of life? Quality of Life? Is that not an earthly reward?

please be more specific.

my interpretation of the Bible is that Jesus formed a new covenant

6But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

7For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

8For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

9Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

10For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

11And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

12For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

13In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

Hebrews 8 is a good example of why the New Testament is big change. If you follow ultra-right thinking in the US today you desperately need the Old Testament to "back your play".

Jesus offered no earthly rewards that i can find. This was a very new concept. He sacrificed himself to end ALL sacrifice. Sacrifice was how the "old school" religious leaders collected their wealth. Jesus specifically said that you do not need any intermediaries. This implies that politics in religion are bad.

saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

did this mean thru intermediaries? or directly?

The love of money is the root of all evil...

Jesus was the ultimate public servant regardless if you throw money out the window or not.

Peaser is right.

The parable of the talents is in Matthew 25.

Also, 2 Thessalonians 3:10 says:

"For even when we were with you, we used to give you this command: “If anyone is not willing to work, neither should he eat.”

Of course, this isn't pertinent today because the Messiah Obama believes in "sharing the wealth" and we know that Osama Obama is THE ONE!

I'm focused on lazy people because our handouts to them are destroying the country. We now have about 40% of the population that doesn't pay income tax. Under Osama Obama, I'm sure that this will exceed 50%. When a minority of the country are the only ones supporting the country, the country is doomed to collapse. In all honesty, I already think that we're past the point of no return.

FYI, the parable of the talents is NOT about usury. It is a parable to show that God expects us all to produce. Those that work hard and produce will be rewarded. Those that are lazy and non-productive will lose even the little that they have. That is the story of the talents!

are you a big fan of Ronald reagan?

Reagan's Tax Revolution: A Big Boost for Families and the Poor
by Kondratas, S. Anna

REAGAN'S TAX REVOLUTION: A BIG BOOST FOR FAMILIES AND THE POOR

INTRODUCTION

Ronald Reagan's tax reform plan offers major gains for the working poor. It does so as part of a comprehensive effort to lighten the tax burden on families, correcting in part the anti-family bias of the current tax code.IThe Reagan plan seeks specifically to raise the zero-bracket amount and personal exemptions and to expand the earned income tax credit, thereby improving the lot of the poor and of families. If enacted, the Reagan proposal would ensure that families with income at or below the poverty level no longer paid any federal income tax.

etc etc etc... i'm sorry you are so ignorant, we're going to fix that tho...

BTW? that's from the Heritage Foundation... one of the most conservative think tanks ever created...

no, it isn't.

as a matter of act? it's called the parable of the Slothful Servant.
the Slothful Servant was telling his master he was a lazy slob and didn't deserve to make money for nothing.

Jesus never preached worldly rewards. Except as Peaser pointed out, when he healed people for free...

if you don't understand that Usury is expressly forbidden? you really need to go do some heavy reading.

"Jesus never preached worldly rewards. Except as Peaser pointed out, when he healed people for free."

Now, let us recognize here, after having it drilled at us for so long, that doing anything, for any one, for free, is expressly against the fanatical beliefs of PM and his sort.
