I quit drinking, but if I still was I would be hammered in no time!

Nice, it was the halloween weekend that did it for me just recently. I am actually looking forward to life without it.

Hahaha, I am giving it a rest. I am determined though. When the VA doctors checked me out after getting out last spring they had said my body shows signs of a lifestyle in the fast lane. Booze, smoking, fast food, etc plus the deployments really wore me down. Got to get the blood pressure back down, and the liver an opportunity to heal. When I get to be the age of a lot of posters here on allstocks I hope to have minimal health issues and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Plus, all it does is bring out bad decisions.

For example, I am at my favorite watering hole and am fully under the unfluence of Makers Mark, or Jager bombs. Night is coming to an end, and I go home with a woman who ends up being heavier than I am.

At 38 I am in the best shape of my life.

Pysically, emotionally, monetarily, mentally...every facet of my life is stronger.

Booze was useless after a certain point in my life.

Married at 34 and now have a beautiful daughter...both of which I would never of had had I kept drinking.

Might be OK for most but I just couldn't get it right.

Conrats to you all that quit, if there is a problem, eliminate the common factor. It should be a personal decision though, society tells me that I shouldn't smoke because of my health, or drink for the same reason but.... I also am in the best shape of my life, I have 5 fantastic kids (I have been told they are the best behaved kids that anyone who spends time with them has ever seen), none of which I ever would have had if I stopped drinking (that was a funny, your allowed to laugh surf [Smile] ) I applaud you all for cutting your selves off, when I hit my mid-life I will consider it, which is a new attitude for me also.
I thought I would be dead by 30, and I almost suceeded (if you know me, you know the story). I actualy beleived that when I was young so I lived my life with a complete disregaurd for safety, which is why I am how I am today (also why I almost died to). Now I have kid's, I wanna live to see graduations, and weddings........................ and I just realized that I'm rambling. Sorry

My wife does daycare, she used to get all kinds of Gov. money through food programs and all that kind of B.S, when re-application came up I told her not to re-apply. Simply put, your daycare is probably making just as much on sponsered programs as they are making on your monthly payment!!!!!!!! ( plus, my wife doesn't make $700 a month for all of her kid's) at $1.35 an hour, it is hard to make money.

I am the main bread winner in the house, she wants to stay home with the kids ( 2 left in the house, rest are in school). After the kid's are all off to school, I am gonna lean on he to get a job outside of daycre............( I learned a long time ago not to say " A real job" the couch sucks to sleep on".
