This is sad. Churches enjoy tax free status as long as they don't do this. They should have to pay taxes if they do this. It's not a question of freedom of speech it's a question of tax subsidization.

Agreed. Churches shouldn't become overly vested in the future of any particular candidate, for or against. While I don't think the IRS should be the stick used to discourage it, I really don't have any better idea how one would go about it otherwise.
