glass, where i am at fort carson just turned a old landfill into a massive solar energy area..just a huge area of panels. I think the plan is to power all of fort carson with it. it is a massive step forward in saving energy AND money because military posts use a lot of electricity. i forget the megawat numbers though.

solar creates lots of construction jobs, adds value to homes for resale, and it could supply a large portion of our national needs.
it still requires a power co. to produce electricity in off peak sun, and manage the distribution of that energy in on-peak sun...
batteries are not the way to go...
wind generators require the same...
it's win-win for everybody...
