CSP plants are increasingly cost-competitive with other power generation technologies that do not produce carbon dioxide. The cost of energy from solar thermal power plants is estimated to be approximately 14 to 16 cents/kWh – competitive in cost with theoretical coal-fired power plants that capture and store their carbon dioxide emissions and with new nuclear power plants
You can tell that this was written by some left-wing wacko environmental nutjob! Cost competitive? Hardly. I just checked my electric bill. I'm paying 4.3 cents per kwh. These morons are talking about paying FOUR TIMES THAT MUCH FOR THIS SOLAR CRAP! So, the average worker bee in the US that's now paying a winter electric bill of $250 per month would spend $1,000 per month under this brilliant plan! Good thinking!!!

No one expected you to be able to understand it or to be able to locate the actual facts and then tell the truth, PM. You are a nut case.

Gore started off a very very wealthy man, cow, and none of it came from his efforts to inform the world about global warming.

But you are right that there are vast amounts of money to be reaped and, too, there are millions of jobs to do in the conversion, then more afterward in the maintaining the things.

since when is becoming wealthy a bad thing?

isn't it rush that keeps screaming class warfare?

there's money to be made here... i am building an algae farm right next to my garden this year..

it's going to make me a millionaire overnight form the bio-oil [Big Grin]

seriously? it's just an ormanmetal pond that will be a pain to keep the algae out of... i want a norhtern pike to put in it- that should be fun to feed [Big Grin]

alge is hard to get rid of... hmmmm... maybe there's a way ...

I spect it will be too hot there for a northern pike. Maybe you might wanna consider an alligator gar.

Chunk an old copper pot in the pond and it will keep down the algae.

They prefer swift moving water, but if you can find a creek or river nearby with any current art all, a silver spoon pulled fairly fast through some rocks or brush might get one. Might get a bass too.

Glass you know im not against wealth. It just so odd to me that the Democrats go and beat their chest claiming they are for the WORKING man when they are so big on a welfare society.

you know my opinions of politicians in general.

as for Pelosi and her plane? i haven't heard the story.. don't care.

who picked it up? fox or limbo? either one? they are just looking to get you mad.

the dems are going to bail out the corporations they feel we need to keep as many jobs as possible. we need to keep people employed. if we get too many unemployed? we enter into an area where the economy cannot fix itself. that's waht will happen, the economy WILL be fixed by people like you and me and even PM who just keep working and growing our small businesses... the govt HAS to make sure we can keep getting what we need to be successful that's their real job.

when Clinton got elected? i was not happy. Perot went in there and took Bush out. I considered voting for Perot until he withdrew and then entered the race again. It sounded crazy what he said about the Bush people threatening his family.

BUT?

after the political hacks spent six years trying to impeach Clnton for all kinds of stuff and only came up with monica? I began to realise that Perot was probably telling the truth.

the country goes back and forth between dems and gops.. but we seem to survive somehow...

sooner or later? pelosi will screw up and Obama will screw up... and then it'll be time to point it out...
save the high blood pressure moments for when it counts....

from my point of view? relentless and retiredat 49 are pretty much correct. there's very little difference between the two parties. i've been saying that for years too. they talk differnt games, but when it comes time for action? they all get behind closed doors and CONSPIRE together.. then they come back out in front of the TV and argue for show again, but it's about drama and money, not about principles they don't exist in Congress IMO...
Hillary gave Bush the war powers he asked for didn't she?

we won't be seeing gun control on the legislative agenda any time soon. Pelosi represents ultra-liberals, but she wants to stay Speaker and that means not losing dem seats...
i predict the Dems big screwup will involve immigration policies...
the bad economy kindof means the immigratrion issue is not as big as it was when the economy was burning up, but it is still there.

I know bdgee. Wealth is a stinky word in your 60's hippie fantasy land. You've given up material things to pursue something more noble.... What was that again? Gibberish?

I don't think it's flatulence - it seems to be all that smelly gibberish.

[Roll Eyes] Sorry PM... The actual "cost" of not using solar is much higher than 11 cents per kwh...

A destroyed environment... Put a price on that, if you can....

P.S., If you are ever in Southwestern PA, drop me a line... I'll show you the reality of "clean coal"...
