"AKARTA, Indonesia - Researchers in a remote Indonesian jungle have discovered a giant rat that is about five times the size of a typical city rat and a tiny possum, scientists said Monday. ADVERTISEMENT
Unearthing new species of mammals in the 21st century is considered very rare. The discoveries by a team of American and Indonesian scientists are being studied further to confirm their status."
However, skeptics are suggesting it isn't correct to say that this is a new discovery, since giant rats have been known to inhabit the U.S. Administration for years.

They should look in Okinawa near Camp Courtney. If they wait until an hour be dawn and take a right out of the gate and go for a run they will hear many feet hitting pavement.I saw 5-10 pound rats following me.Made me run a little faster and further to stay ahead.Had to come back on opposite side of road.

Sounds like that was just a baby if it were elephant size then that would be different.
I do not think that would be a surprise to those who have been to Vietnam, Cambodia etc. Rats and leaches what a combo. I will throw snakes in there also.
