Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor is in critical condition after being shot at his Florida home.
Miami-Dade County police say officers were dispatched to Taylor's home in Palmetto Bay at about 1:45 a.m. His girlfriend told 911 dispatchers he was shot in the lower part of his body.

He was airlifted to the hospital. But it's not clear how many times he was shot.

Investigators are interviewing the girlfriend and other relatives who were in the home at the time.

The former University of Miami star is in his fourth season with the Redskins. He leads the team with five interceptions but has missed the last two games with a knee injury.

The Redskins lost 19-13 to the Buccaneers in Tampa Sunday.

I'm betting there's more to this story than anyone now knows. This guy was troubled all the back to his college days. I'm expecting some kind of off the wall events leading to this.
