The Columbia University Pres. Lee Bollinger really handed it to him. I don't quite see how he could take any of that back to Iran and spin that into something favorable.

He provoked derisive laughter by responding to a question about Iran's execution of homosexuals by saying: "In Iran we don't have homosexuals like in your country ... I don't know who's told you that we have this."

Who Is Imam al-Mahdi? The term "MAHDI" is a title meaning "The Guided one". Mahdi is a normal man who is going to follow the true Islam. Mahdi will be very just and his capital will be Damascus. Allah told us that Jews will master the world two times and Mahdi will appear between those two periods and will rule through the last one. Mahdi is NOT a prophet but he is the final Rightly Guided Khalifa. Mahdi will lead Muslims to a great victory against the Christian Romans (i.e. All the white Europeans including the Americans). This great war is called al-Malhamah al-Kubrah or Armageddon. It will end up with a great victory to Muslims against Romans after six years. Muslims will take over their capital Rome (this can be any city). In the seventh year, the Anticrist will apear and a greater war will start between Jews and Muslims for 40 days (longer that usual days) and will end when Jesus (pbuh) will come and Muslims will kill all Jews. All people will convert into Islam. Peace will pervade the whole world.

Is bin Laden the 'Mahdi'? Some Muslim followers believe he is prophesied 'awaited enlightened one' Posted: September 8, 2003
U.S. military intelligence experts are studying a video clip of Osama bin Laden in which he stands before a dry-erase board with an Arabic phrase written upon it – "awaited enlightened one," reports Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin.
No one who has seen the video is quite certain of the meaning or the context. But, the Hadith, a collection of Islamic holy writings that supplement the Quran, predicts a messianic figure will arise in the last days of history. This "Mahdi," along with the "Prophet Jesus," will lead the believers to victory over the infidels.
The video raises the question of whether bin Laden sees himself as this Mahdi or if he is expecting another to arise and lead. Either way, the addition of a dimension of Islamic prophecy to the global terror war may seriously complicate matters for planners in the West, G2 Bulletin reports.
According to G2 Bulletin's military sources, some of the detainees currently held at Guantanamo Bay have told interrogators they joined bin Laden's al-Qaida offensive because they think he is the "awaited enlightened one." Others in military intelligence say some of the terrorists crossing the border into Iraq with al-Qaida ties are doing so because of their belief in this Islamic prophecy.

I had to laugh at the 60 minutes interview!! and I quote "I am a Muslim, we can not lie" I am laughing my a$$ of at the T.V. thinking, yeah but your also a politician so....... you abviously do.

W'ell i supported that he was allowed to speak at Columbia for the sole reason that were a democracy that advocates free speech... that means not only nice people get to speak their mind.. if we had not let him it would show the world that were hyprocrites... and by letting him speak we showed were better then him because he does not let free speech in his country... and much less Bush or any U.S. president speak in his country... same with Chavez and Castro etc...
Plus it shows us his words first hand and not 2nd hand from media that can edit it by having americans in the audience to witness his words... though he bobbed and weaved alot but in between the lines you knew what he was saying in terms of his hateful speech... btw Bush is viewed around the world like the Iranian president is viewed here... so if Bush is/was allowed to speak in other countries where he is hated and he has... then even more so to let this Iranian hate monger speak here to show we do not censor people neither... I do scoff at the notion that he is a dictator though because was elected into his office much like Bush no? ... perhaps in similar circumstances of stealing the election lol ... jk ... but anyways he was elected and did not take over by force... and i'm not aware of Iran's government structure but im guessing they probably have something similar to a senate and such? ...
