Apparently no one in my community. There's a nature center here that had a big global warming seminar planned for yesterday. They had local and state politicians on hand to discuss the issue and guess how many people showed up? Zero. Not a single person. Kind of sad.

That is sad. Was it advertised well enough? Such a nice day here at the beach I doubt anyone would attend something like that here also. Unless they offer something like some form of entertainment it seems no one wants to put a leg forward. Even to help themselves for their own future.

Shocking.
Does this mean Al Gore isn't as convincing as CNN hopes?
Maybe they all figured it would be snowed out like all the other global warming seminars.

Obviously, it is because no one cares, because it isn't real, just cyclic. Next ice age will be global chilling, and it will be blamed on everything but the weather.
It isn't sad at all, people were out enjoying the nice warm weather.
...and since when do you care, Upside? You could give two sh*ts less.
How was your fishing trip. hope you stayed warm.

My trip was great, thanks for asking. Except the last day when we fished in a downpour for about 4 hours. Haven't seen my wife wet like that in a long time.

It was the third and last Canadian fishing trip for the year. The main target is smallmouth bass but we do a lot of walleye and northern pike fishing too. In three days of fishing we caught at least 200 fish (all released) but my wife probably caught 125, maybe 150 of them. She waxed me like she always does.

what global warming?

i'm here in MS, and i'm outside working in Oct, and wondering if i'm sick or something cuz i'm sweating my butt off, so i flip on the weather channel and find out it's 92 degrees; the dew point is 91 degrees; humidity is 100%; with a clear sky; making the heat index 117...

in OCT [Eek!]

that's as bad as it was when the air temp here was 105...

it barely snows in my area of NY anymore compared to the 1980's ... yet people say there isn't global warming.... what is so wrong with admitting that there is global warming and that we f*ucked up this planet with our pollution and such over thousands of years?....

if "they" admitted it? our whole economy would have to change...

of course IMO? this doesn't mean much because i believe we are quite capable of reconfiguring our economy and remaining highly successful..

however,

"they" might lose "their" control over the economy and somebody who "doesn't belong" might become fabulously wealthy...

you know, like what happened in silicon valley last decade.. those oil tycoons were pretty ticked when all the "geeks" suddenly started building bigger houses than JR Ewing [Wink]

"This system will be almost unprecedented in terms of cold weather and snow levels for September in southwestern California," the NWS said.

"Many locations may well set record low maximum temperatures on Friday, with temperatures more typical of January rather than September," forecasters said.
