after reading this, i began wondering, "what other beliefs have changed (or havn't changed) in the last few centuries?" when villagers are secluded from the rest of society dont they sometimes believe in things we know to be untrue?
what about the various religous beliefs?
are millions worldwide holding on to outdated religious beliefs? the world is flat, witches, the sun revolved around the earth, quakers living on the moon seemed all to real not long ago

Chinese villagers ate dinosaur 'dragon bones'
Villagers dug up prehistoric bones believing they were from flying creatures

BEIJING - Villagers in central China spent decades digging up bones they believed belonged to flying dragons and using them in traditional medicines. Turns out the bones belonged to dinosaurs, and now scientists are doing the digging.

Until last year, the fossils were being sold in Henan province as “dragon bones” at about 25 cents a pound, scientist Dong Zhiming said Wednesday.

The calcium-rich bones were sometimes boiled with other ingredients and fed to children to treat dizziness and leg cramps. Other times they were ground up and turned into a paste applied directly to fractures and other injuries, he said.

Dong was part of a team that recently excavated in Henan’s Ruyang County a 60-foot-long plant-eating dinosaur that lived 85 million to 100 million years ago. The find was shown to the public Tuesday.

Dong said that when the villagers found out last year the bones were from dinosaurs, they donated 440 pounds to him and his colleagues for research. Over the last two decades, the villagers had dug up an estimated 1 ton of bones.

“They had believed that the ’dragon bones’ were from the dragons flying in the sky,” said Dong, a professor with the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Yes!

Denial of information allows a people to believe falsehoods, like hiding pictures or any data on wounded and dead in Iraq and massive tax cuts to the rich are required to just maintain the Nation's economy and laws written by huge drug companies are good for the Nation's economy.

Every front page of every newspaper and every front cover of every magazine should display pictures of the flag draped caskets of the dead service men and women and pictures of american boys and girls horribly disfigured by dubya's war in Iraq. No national tv show should be broudcast that doesn't recount with every episode the numbers of dead and wounded that week in dubya's Iraqian lie..

It isn't a witch hunt.

It is an honest and patriotic effort to tell the truth about a nest of Party first fascist.

another GOP domino tips...

i think the blind are the ones in the White House...

the GOP is imploding... and if you think it was bad when Carter was in office? it's gonna be worse this time...

if the GOP can keep 40 senate seats and the White House next year? i'll be pretty shocked..

i spent some time in Wyoming this year, and even people up there are asking WTF is going on with their good ole boys...
it was kind of interesting, nobody wanted to say right out that they had given up supporting Cheney, but they most definitely had nothing good to say... nothing at all...

Domenici parts ways with Bush on Iraq war
Supports change in exit strategy

By Shailagh Murray and Paul Kane, Washington Post | July 6, 2007

WASHINGTON -- White House efforts to keep congressional Republicans united on the Iraq war suffered another major defection yesterday as Senator Pete Domenici of New Mexico broke with President Bush and called for an immediate change in US strategy that could end combat operations by the spring.

The six-term lawmaker, party loyalist, and formerly staunch war supporter represents one of the most significant GOP losses to date. Speaking to reporters in Albuquerque, Domenici said he began to question his stance last month, after conversations with the family members of New Mexico soldiers killed in action and as it became clear that Iraqi leaders were making little progress toward national reconciliation.

Bdgee..I have a question for you. Do you find anything positive? I mean....It just seems like you are always angry in your post. You know..This is the best country in the world with more opportunity than any other place. Why do you think that everyone who disagrees with you is a far right religious Zealot?

I have to admit...lol..Sometimes I know you are correct on a subject and I will disagree with you just to see your response. lol No hard feelings.

"Do you find anything positive?"

I see absolutely nothing even close to positive about the regime in the the Administration and about as little about the selfish self centered jerks that put them there.

That you have to ask only means that you don't know how to read
very well.

Or possibly you only see what you want to see.

I don't think "everyone who disagrees ... is a far right religious Zealot", but I must admit, most that disagree are far right religious fascist zealots.

Pay attention, for a change, andi, to something that isn't tweaking your rightwing ego and you will see that the far left wingers react similarly to my insistence that the exercise of party loyalty before loyalti to the Constitution and the Nation is sick.

How about puppy dogs and yellow roses....They are cute. Or would you disagree.

Why must you cut me down to make Bdgee feel better? I have no right wing ego.lol I consider myself neutral on issues, I then take which ever side I agree with, Republican or Democrat. I see bad in both sides. Relax man. Do not get so defensive. You dont know me or have any idea of my situation or walk in my shoes. You cant judge me. YOU DONT KNOW ME!!! Who made you GOD!

"Why must you cut me down to make Bdgee feel better?"

I don't "cut you down". You may thank my generosity for that.

"I consider myself neutral on issues, I then take which ever side I agree with, Republican or Democrat."

There is no evidence that you ever chose any side that wasn't far rightwing evangelical extreme and there is much that you choose only rightwing and republican.

"Relax man. Do not get so defensive. "

I am relaxed and see no reason to be defensive. Do not confuse your own emotions with mine. In further response to your incessant and insulting assumptions I give to you your own words:

You don't know me or have any idea of my situation or walk in my shoes. You cant judge me. YOU DONT KNOW ME!!! Who made you GOD!

So how about you stop the insinuating and insulting declarations of what I do or think.
