based on Fitzgeralds statement that the Grand Jury interviews will not be made public, as a natural course of the standard practice of law, it is time to demand that Congress open an inquiry with all testimony given under oath.
Fitzgerald plainly states that Valerie Plames relationship with CIA was classified.

i believe the Congress is unlikely to act unless forced to. why? because they can negotiate for more of what they want with a threat than they can if they actually act. it sux, but that is how politics works...
the next few weeks will tell US all more about how this will develop.
Bush's counterinsurgent move in Iraq seems to be working right now. that's good. unfortunately? i am convinced that it is simply a strategic move by the insurgents. they know they can't beat US Troops head to head so they are blending back into the shadows and waiting for the "wave to leave the beach".
pardons typically come AFTER the election cycle, so i predict the lawyers will draw this out and try to keep it in appeals court until the next prez election is over. they already managed to get this drama delayed about a year.

speaking of pardons? here's an interesting factoid:
Marc Rich (born Marc David Reich on December 18, 1934) is an international commodities trader. He fled the United States in 1983 to live in Switzerland while being prosecuted on charges of tax evasion and illegally making oil deals with Iran during the hostage crisis.
He received a presidential pardon from United States President Bill Clinton in 2001, which required him to pay a $100 million fine before the charges would be dropped.
In 1983, Rich and partner Pincus Green were indicted by U.S. Attorney and future mayor of New York City Rudolph Giuliani, on charges of tax evasion and illegal trading with Iran. Both of them fled to Switzerland before a court appearance, and they remained on the FBI's Most Wanted List for many years.
On January 20, 2001, hours before leaving office, President Bill Clinton granted Rich a presidential pardon. Since Rich's former wife and mother of his three children, socialite Denise Rich, had made large donations to the Democratic Party and the Clinton Library during Clinton's time in office, Clinton's critics alleged that Rich's pardon had been bought. a lot of people claimed Clinton was crook for this.... i agree

Libby apparently admitted that he thought his client was a traitor for doing business with Iran during the hostage crisis... anybody seeing a pattern here? HAL (Cheney) was doing business with Iran for years thru subsidiaries too...

Wilson Statement in Response to Jury's Verdict in U.S. v. I. Lewis 'Scooter' Libby

The following is being issued by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington:
First, Valerie and Joseph Wilson would like to express their appreciation to Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald and the entire team of federal prosecutors for their professionalism and hard work. Their prosecution of a senior White House official illustrates that we are a nation of laws and that no man is above the law. The Wilsons respect the jury's verdict and thank the jurors for their service. The entire Wilson team is pleased by today's verdict and believes that justice has been served in this case.
The Wilsons will continue to pursue the civil case against Vice President Cheney, Mr. Libby, Mr. Rove and Mr. Armitage because it hinges on additional and different facts from those underlying the criminal case. The criminal trial was about whether or not Mr. Libby obstructed justice and committed perjury by lying to FBI agents and the grand jury about the fact that he had disclosed to reporters that Valerie Wilson worked for the CIA. The civil suit, on the other hand, hinges on whether or not the defendants violated the constitutional rights of Valerie and Joe Wilson by making those disclosures in a concerted effort to retaliate against Joe Wilson for revealing the falsity of the president's rationale for the Iraq war.
Disturbing facts emerged from the criminal trial that are highly relevant to the civil case. For example, the American public learned details of how Vice President Cheney orchestrated the concerted White House effort to discredit and retaliate against Joe Wilson. Towards that end, the vice president enlisted the aid of other senior administration officials including former press secretary Ari Fleischer, vice presidential assistant Cathie Martin and presidential advisor Karl Rove. Testimony in the criminal case also confirmed that Mr. Libby spoke to numerous reporters in an effort to persuade at least one of them to publicly reveal Mrs. Wilson's covert status.
Melanie Sloan, CREW's executive director and counsel to the Wilsons stated, "The civil case may provide the American public with its only opportunity to hear directly from Vice President Cheney, Mr. Libby, Mr. Rove and Mr. Armitage about what really took place behind the scenes after Joe Wilson exposed the truth about the administration's justification for the Iraq war."
