That picture looks familiar. Did you post it last 4th too? I seem to remember a comment about popping your balloon or something like that.

Hey, speaking of firecracker, any of you buy fireworks? I love 'em, but we can't risk it here--well, some people are, ie there's stands still operating--but it's still too dry here. Here's an excerpt re one "grass fire" that hit up north of here New Year's...http://www.firerescue1.com/wildland/articles/84993/ a blurb: quote: Looking out onto the horizon, they estimated that the flames were a mile away. They headed back to the truck. When they turned around again, the fire was right on top of them. Forty feet tall. That was the size of the blaze that pushed over the railroad tracks like an ocean wave. When the fire hit the tracks, it cleared one hundred yards of bare ground. --------------------Nashoba Holba Chepulechi Adventures in microcapitalism...

we had that problem in Nebraska in the summer of '02.... the whole corn crop in the SE corner of the state looked like a broom..... the grasshoppers were eating everything... they even chewed up plastic and trash tryin' to eat it.. we were pretty nervous... the whole state seemd like a tinder box... i saved all my mortars for New Yers... ever shoot mortars in a 25 mph winter wind at 5 degrees? it was interesting... -------------------- Don't envy the happiness of those who live in a fool's paradise.

We used to have roman candle wars when we were kids. That can be painful if you're not quick. Our family pools together for fireworks and throws a big 4th picnic for family and neighbors every year. Let's just say, the clean up on July 5th ain't a picnic. Fireworks are "illegal" here, so it's a good thing that my dad is in with the Fire Dept. -------------------- Buy Low. Sell High.
