This story defies all logic and reason... why would Buffett give Gates money? Gate's charity is abudantly funded. Couldn't Buffett find a charity that could ACTUALLY USE SOME CASH????

I am appalled and disgusted by this display of American arrogance...

OMAHA, Neb. - The world's second-richest man, Warren Buffett, became one of the world's biggest philanthropists Sunday with the announcement that he would bequeath the bulk of his roughly $44 billion fortune to the foundation established by billionaire Bill Gates and his wife.

The decision to start giving next month through annual stock donations represents a stark reversal for the investment wizard, who for years had said his wealth would be pledged to philanthropies after his death.

Buffett's gift will radically boost the resources of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which is already the world's largest philanthropy with assets of more than $29 billion.

Obviously, you are not rich enough, glass. Only the rich deserve billion dollar handouts.

Ah well...maybe I can suck up to Gates instead.

He could of funded education for college age students for a half a Century or more...Just the interest would of paid for thousands of American kids an education, a real one, with a criteria to stop it from being abused or manipulated.

All Buffet ever did was take what he wanted from America, this how he shows his respect, what a guy..Hey did he ever serve in the Armed forces?

In my opinion, he made one lazy and thoughtless decision. He showed disrespect and a type of self serving arrogance to all Americans.

Buffett told Fortune that he decided to start giving his money away now because he has been impressed with Bill and Melinda Gates and the work they've done through their foundation. And he decided it would be easier to give to a large foundation instead of trying to expand his own foundation.

"What can be more logical, in whatever you want done, than finding someone better equipped than you are to do it?" Buffett told the magazine. "Who wouldn't select Tiger Woods to take his place in a high-stakes golf game? That's how I feel about this decision about my money."

Buffett is a real disgrace. If I was in his posistion, I would have given a large chunk of that fortune to the widows, widowers, and children of soldiers who've died in Iraq and Afghanistan. Those are the kind of people that need a hand and a leg up in life.

To my knowledge, Buffett has never served America - America has served him. And, he's a staunch Democrat.

The lack of responsibility is stunning.
A lot of people with far less to give, understand they have a responsibility to shepard they're money and resources with great care and understand the hard work it truly is to give so it counts the most......

Just to PHHTTTT give it to the Gates foundation shows me he has no respect for his fortune..

How many American people did he plow under to make that money...

He blew it! America is secondary to this guy..A lazy gift to Gates is first!

Howd ya like to find out latter a big chunck went to save Aussie Crocks or sumpin?

Or! why not give it to Murdock at Fox to open a whole new Thong string of sumpin like Hooters!
LOL

Ya! tahts the ticket.

I got it! I got it! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

$27,000,000,000,.00 should be enough to fix up Hillary and Condi so people don't turn to stone when they look at um!

Might be enough left for Bubba to get a few good cigars, to boot! or is that to Hoot, or is that for, well, smoking? or, well, better stop....

You know what, Gates has a responsibility in this too. Gates should do the honorable thing and kindly ask Buffett to give his billions to charities that actually need the cash. Gates doesn't need Buffett's money, and Gate's charity will NEVER need his money.

Gates is just as much of a disgrace. Of, Gates should take Buffett's billions and start a new charity that is completely unrelated the work he's currently doing. Gates shouldn't add Buffett's billions to his already bloated bank account.

Are you guys kidding me? The man gives the bulk of his fortunre $44 billion I belive. TO a foundation that fights aginast HIV, Malaria & Tuberculosis In addition to his giving 1 mil shares to his late wife's foundation and some to his childrens AND you are gonna blast the man!! Are you insane? I think his genouristy was outstanding. As far as just giving money to people, what will that do but make them happy for a while. Why not try to cure a diease to help generations of people?

Are you on crack? We're talking about fiscal responsibility. No one is knocking the Gates Foundation. The issue is that billions are being given to the most funded charity on the planet. Billions are being given to a charity that will never run out of money and doesn't need the money.

In ten lifetimes Gates' foundation would never run out of money. He couldn't spend it all. Buffett should be giving his money to charities that NEED IT.

Plenty, lava, most of my friends were split on the issue, at first, now they are beginning to agree with me that he made an irresponsible and lazy decision after discuussing it amongst family members...

Sometimes the Kids can really make ya think...They don't think it was right...They have been scolded and tought the value and responsibility of resources and wealth and taking full responsibility for it..They see him as a hipocrite.....
