Finally Medical Journal Admits the Truth

-Dr. Joseph Mercola

Today's British Medical Journal features an editorial on the bird flu in which they state the following: The lack of sustained human-to-human transmission suggests that this AH5N1 avian virus does not currently have the capacity to cause a human pandemic.

While they do go on to say the virus could mutate with a influenza A virus and has the potential to acquire the means for rapid human to human transmission, it does NOT have this ability now. All the preparation and fear being created in the media is about a theoretical speculation.

I am a former Boy Scout and fully believe in being prepared, but this is nothing even close to following recommendations made by experts to New Orleans that if implemented would have saved 1,000 lives, 500,000 homes and well over $100 billion from Hurricane Katrina.

No, this is all about creating fear and panic to benefit the drug companies. Now, I am still not opposed to being prepared for this potential bird flu pandemic. It is POSSIBLE it might materialize. But if it did, there is no way that the flu vaccine or Tamiflu will mitigate its damage. No way!

If you want to know how to truly strengthen your immune system so will laugh when the flu bug or nearly any other infectious agent seeks to infect you, then start following the Total Health Program or read the quick tips I posted last year.

this is not news 4art...

bird flu CAN/COULD mutate into being a human to human vector-born disease any day tho.... that we do know for a fact...
west nile virus is another one that COULD do that(but it is much less likely)

every year now since y2k? we have had a "flu scare" the whole media/political climate has become one of scare everybody all the time...

last year is was shortage remeber? this is big biz....

yes, we do need to increase funding to good research programs, and yes i do FEEL the the current admin is opposed to well-funded public research...

private corp research has too many flaws...
it is possible to get good results from private industry, but good quality science come from people that are TENURED, people that can afford the freedom to take risks and do speculative research...

it's funny in a way, you need to subvert the "free market system" to be able to make major steps in discovery.... the apollo projsect is another good example of this...

I agree that almost anything can/could happen, Glass. That doesn't mean it will.

Research is always very important.

Fear mongering? Not so much.

(Unless you're Roche Laboratories Inc.)

hmmm... have you read Crichton's lates? "State of Fear"? it's worth the read...

the media knows that fear sells.... they constantly play on fears...

the iraq war was started with fear...fear that sadam would or had empowered al-queda .... the underlying funadamental to stock market movement is simple...fear and greed...

AH5N1 has been known since 1997.. It's funny how all of a sudden they're like, it's in europe... and when they say it on the news they say it like "AVIAN FLU HAS SPREAD TO EUROPE" to make you think OMG it's in humans.. Later they say it's in a bird.

I think the best example was SARS.. how the media played it to look like it was an epidemic in china when there was really nothing going on. Then we said no one was allowed to go to canada LOL and the canadians were all made.

What's sad is how fast we forget these are just fear tactics. Media is like.. DAMMIT that fake SARS epidemic didn't work.. WE NEED NEWS DAMMIT!

Would somebody please explain something to me. Dubya claims we did not arrive at our present state via evolution, because it is, according to him, obvious that the world is just too complicated for people to understand. He claims evolution is a false theory.

Now, it is bluntly obvious that bird flu is not now of a form that could become a pandemic to humans. In order for bird flu to become a potential cause for a pandemic in the human population, the bird flu virus would need to mutate to a form that could travel from human to human.

N0w, isn't dubya on the one hand claiming evolution doesn't happen, so we should teach kids "intellegent design" and, on the other, declaring it's only a simple evolutionary step before bird flu changes to a form that will caous a sure fire pandemic?

Another thought keeps coming to me. Exactly what about this world's weirdness that allows children to be born without legs or missing that part of the brain that makes them able to be human or screwed up so that they are both male an femal implies this was such a damned "intellegent" design?

Isn't God better at designing things than this?

It's in there, but not quite as simply as stated above.

The actual reference is in Exodus, just after God has given the ten Commandments to Moses.

It's reference to God's covenant with his people. The text states that God will love a thousand generations from those that love him. And that he will punish the children of 3 and 4th generations of those that hate him. This is where the God punishes children for the sins of the parents thought comes into to play.

The most important note here is that this was all before the death of Christ, who now serves as an advocate for us(sinners) to the Father(God), so that curses of our parents can be broken.

In the natural world, sort of, yes. My parents didn't prepare for their retirement. Who will to support them?.. me and my siblings. My parents did not prepare for their childrens weddings, or college educations. Who paid?.. we did. My mother smoked while pregnant with my brother. Now he has a few chronic health problems(most of them he grew out of).

In the spritual world, no, God is not "after me" for the sins of my parents.

No WMDs, 30,000+ Iraqis dead, 2,000+ US soldiers dead, no plan for withdrawal....

Is that a good start?

No WMD's, and the death toll are not relevant to it being an unjust war when we went in.

No plan for withdrawel...do we know there wasn't a plan at the beginning? Maybe there was a plan and it failed?

The war may be unjust now, but was is unjust when it started?

we are still waiting to find out how the intel was handled to determine that...

remeber? Bush in his first presidential campaign was very confused when international politcal issues were brought up...

in other words? he may have been the perfect "rube" for the guys that broguht the intel to him. that he pushed so hard onto the rest of us...

if you go back and review transcripts of the debates between GOP candidates in 2000, and then debates between Gore and Bush it is absolutley glaring that he was clueless..

If you look carefully and objectively at dubya and the "beliefs" and "knowledge" he shows and claims, clueless is a very generous and gentle evaluation.
