This is for all the kids born in the 70's who do not remember, and didn't have to bear the burden that our fathers, mothers and older brothers and sisters had to bear.
Jane Fonda is being honored as one of the "100 Women of the Century."
Unfortunately, many have forgotten and still countless others have never known how Ms. Fonda betrayed not only the idea of our country, but specific men who served and sacrificed during Vietnam.
The first part of this is from an F-4E pilot.
The pilot's name is Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat.
In 1968, the former Commandant of the USAF Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo Prison the "Hanoi Hilton."
Dragged from a stinking cesspit of a cell, cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJ's, he was ordered to describe for a visiting American "Peace Activist" the "lenient and humane treatment" he'd received.
He spat at Ms. Fonda, was clubbed, and was dragged away. During the subsequent beating, he fell forward on to the camp Commandant's feet, which sent that officer berserk.
In 1978, the Air Force Colonel still suffered from double vision (which permanently ended his flying career) from the Commandant's frenzied application of a wooden baton.
From 1963-65, Col. Larry Carrigan was in the 47FW/DO (F-4E's). He spent 6 years in the "Hanoi Hilton",,, the first three of which his family only knew he was "missing in action". His wife lived on faith that he was still alive. His group, too, got the cleaned-up, fed and clothed routine in preparation for a "peace delegation" visit. They, however, had time and devised a plan to get word to the world that they were alive and still survived. Each man secreted a tiny piece of paper, with his Social Security Number on it, in the palm of his hand.
When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a cameraman, she walked the line, shaking each man's hand and asking little encouraging snippets like: "Aren't you sorry you bombed babies?" and "Are you grateful for the humane treatment from your benevolent captors?" Believing this HAD to be an act, they each palmed her their sliver of paper. She took them all without missing a beat. At the end of the line and once the camera stopped rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs, she turned to the officer in charge and handed him all the little pieces of paper.
Three men died from the subsequent beatings. Colonel Carrigan was almost number four but he survived, which is the only reason we know of her actions that day.
These first-hand experiences do not exemplify someone who should be honored as part of "100 Years of Great Women." Lest we forget..." 100 Years of Great Women" should never include a traitor whose hands are covered with the blood of so many patriots.
There are few things I have strong visceral reactions to, but Hanoi Jane's participation in blatant treason, is one of them.

ALSO...I served in Viet Nam in 71-72 I have stated that previously.....I just got off the the phone with a person who is privy to information most people will never see or hear..The person states the note incident is true...The person also states there is a lot more that is classified....
Jane Fonda could be tried for treason..They have enough on her to do it...He states this deal with Fonda ain't over yet..And she could be brought up on charges.
The person I talked with was in the USAF from 66 - 86.....To my knowledge he has never lied to me about anything..He is a retired Major.

More info coming in on Fonda...She gave the notes to a NVAO out of fear for her own life...She did smile when she did it....She got in way over her head, and aparently had a little bladder problem. You decide.

there was a lot of "stuff" going on... marches. riots. Kent State....it was a bad time...
my parentws were into politics...did a lot of campaigning for Nixon....Agnew was from my home state..MD.... my memories of the 60's and early 70's aren't too happy....Watergate was a real bad word around my house.....left me a bad attitude towards ALL politicians...(i guess you noticed) LOL
as far as Jane goes? i THINK that she should have been charged and tried for her crimes...then a jury could decide....
i think everybody deserves their day in court....

Barbara Walters and company will have hell to pay for doing this. Sentiment is growing, as we speak, amongnst Veteran groups to take ABC to task over this pathetic political ploy. ABC will recieve notice that there will be a boycott of all there programing. All advertisers will be notified of the disdain they will incur if they support this program.
This was a E- mail I recently recieved apparently it was sent to ABC when this thing aired.

I asked about the PM'S because Hanoi Jane is still such an explosive issue...Many people are still afraid to express they're opinions,,,, "in an open forum " about her.... They are concerned they will be accused of war mongoring ... I just wondered if you had been warned to drop this issue....I have been warned thru several phone conversations that I should .... My answer is, bring um on.. Good post grynder.....Dusty

what a beautiful woman she was! she has since said that she is very sorry for her previous actions and wished she had never takin that stance. just a young person caught up in the times. anti-vietnam sentiment ran high in that era, (as it still does-it was a huge mistake), and i begrudge her nothing. remember her husband? at the time i was doing my thing in Cambodia ('69-'72) and wished i was home safe and sound--with her.

I a just posting this becasue it todays news. (i personnely think its time to forgive her)
While signing copies of her autobiography, "My Life So Far," in Kansas City, Missouri, Jane Fonda probably got a little more than she expected. Michael Smith, 54, a Vietnam veteran, spat tobacco juice in the actress's face after waiting to have her sign her new memoir. Smith was arrested Tuesday night on a charge of disorderly conduct. In her memoir, Fonda discusses her 1972 visit to Hanoi to protest the Vietnam War, during which she was photographed on a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun. She has apologized for the photo, but not for opposing the war. Smith told The Kansas City Star that Fonda was a "traitor" and that her protests against the war were unforgivable. "I consider it a debt of honor," he said. "She spit in our faces for 37 years. It was absolutely worth it. There are a lot of veterans who would love to do what I did." Herald Tribune.

Any thing that has to do with the MIA'S and POW'S I view with extreme predgidous....
Jane Fonda betrayed her country, and the men and women who served and serve now...
I have no forgiveness in my heart for this women...Period!

forgive or not..... the car i drive has absolutly nothing to do with the actions of hero's or traitors.
but, to each their own.
the real lesson here is to not let something of this nature happen again.....
i personally never had the opportunity to serve my country. i can only imagine the pure hell a POW must have known.
drafted at 19-21 yrs old. just outta high school. taken from family n friends. sent half way 'round the world to a strange land. taught and told to hunt and kill people you have never meet but are willing to hunt and kill you. captured, imprisoned, starved, beaten, tortured beyond belief for year upon year.......
to those who served, i offer my sincerest, heartfelt gratitude and i pray that as time goes on, your healing will continue.
to the rest, just where do you think your freedom came from ?

there is a whole new generation of combat vetrans out there now.. and the va's are filling up with the mamed and wounded...and you boys will need to give them a barstool at the vfw...
right now we are in wwIII and the odds of a nuke on US soil are about 100%.... so its time to set aside old wounds and extend some olive branches... who knows maybe hanoi jane will be a big asset in bagdad....I think a colation of you boys ought to go and smoke the peace pipe with her she might turn out to be a real asset.
but again I would like to thank you for your service for our country....
