With Russia now trigger happy after seeing their children slaughtered by terrorists the way they were, and a terrorist attack imminent on U.S. soil, wouldn't it be great if the world ACTUALLY came together to fight terrorism.

Instead of just the US bombing the **** out of Iraqis in some impearlist power grab, have Europe\China\America\Russia combine their powers and just TELL the middle east how its going to be.

i.e.
- democractic reforms madated
- human rights reforms mandated
- etc, etc

I realize that transforming an entire region takes time and a lot of resources. But the combined resources of all these powers, it would actually be cheaper than all the extra security measures we've got to take.

Its kind of idealistic, but I really think that if the civilized world stood under a united banner, one that IS NOT LED BY THE US but that is truly a united front, than succesful middle east reforms could take place.
