I would like to contribute as well.

Just hit the third double 2K to 16K
in 16 Months. Would like to see how
to accelerate.

I will start a separate account with 1K.

Still trying to turn the 16K into 32K
by summer and 50K by the end of the year.

Had planned to start two new accounts
using different techniques but willing
to put one on hold to support this effort.

Always interested in making more money. How are we going to decide on stocks, or are we just going to give our picks, and decide on our own? Currently I am into PGHI...up 63% in the last two weeks.

Yawwzeeee, that's Texan talk for, Yawwzeeee.
This is going to be fun. But first off, if we
are going to turn $1,000 into $100,000 or higher, we need to be mentally nimble. So here are some questions to see if you are nimble or humble. You might even post how many you got right. I will only ask 6 questions, don't want to over tax that noggin
After each question I will leave a blank space, which represents my mind and also helps to prevent you from accidentally seeing
the answer.
1) What do you put in a toaster?

The answer is "bread." If you said "toast," then go splash water on your face, drink strong coffee or whatever, but try not to hurt yourself.
2) Say "silk" five times. Now spell "silk." What do cows drink?

Answer: Cows drink water. If you said "milk,"
please do not attempt the next question. Your
brain is obviously over stressed and may even
be in danger of overheating. Once again, cold
water in the face may help.
3) If a red house is made from red bricks and a blue house is made from blue bricks and
a pink house is made from pink bricks and a black house is made from black bricks what is
a greenhouse made from?

Answer: Greenhouses are made from glass or clear plastic. If you said "green bricks," what the devil are you still doing here reading these questions?
4) Twenty years ago, a plane is flying at 20,000 feet over Germany. If you will recall
Germany at that time was politically divided
into West Germany and East Germany. Anyway, during the flight, two of the planes' three engines fail. The pilot, realizing the the last remaining engine is also failing, decides on a crash landing procedure. Unfortunately, the last engine fails before he has time to to complete the procedure and
the plane crashes smack dab in the middle of
the "no man's land" between East and West Germany. Where would you bury the survivors?
East Germany, West Germany or in "no man's land"?

Answer: You don't, of course, bury the survivors. If you said ANYTHING else, please
never try to rescue anyone from a plane crash. Their families might get upset at the results.
5) If the hour hand on a clock moves 1/60 of
a degree every minute, then how many degrees will the hour hand move in one hour?

Answer: One degree. If you said "360 degrees"
or anything other than "one degree," then turn around in a circle three times, all the while saying, "I agree, I agree, it's one degree." OK, OK, so I'm a terrible poet.

Since this is the internet, it could mean that we have some people from overseas as part of our group. So that you won't feel out
of place, I will ask a question, that might be easier answered by someone that lives in England. To make it more fair for the rest of
us, don't use a calculator when answering this question.
6) You are driving a bus from London to Milford Haven in Wales. In London, 17 people get on the bus. In Reading, six people get off the bus and nine people get on. In Cardiff 11 people get off and 16 people get on the bus. In Swansea, three people get off and five get on. In Carmathen, six people get off and three get on. You then arrive at your destination, Milford Haven. What was the name of the bus driver?

Answer: Oh, for crying out loud! Don't you remember your own name? It was YOU, you dummy. Remember, the very first line said that you're driving the bus.

Well, Ok. Now I'll have to say that my brain
not very nimble. I suggested that we start a $1,000 to $100,000 dollar board, but I don't know how we will do it. Does anyone know how the other people do theirs? This board has differnt postings such as "stocks under .10" and "Canadian Stocks" etc. We could call this
one "1K to 100K" or "$1,000 to $100,000" We would need a moderator(s) to go over the picks and say what to buy, and maybe, even more important, when to sell. I'm new to computers, and so when I used to buy stocks, I held on to them for years, which worked good because over the years they tended to go
way up. Since I got a computer, and then found this board, I have started to do more short term trades, well partial short term trades. I bought LBTT at .0022 with the idea of holding on to it for years, but when it shot up to .03, a 1,500% gain, I sold over half of it, because with that fast gain I thought that it might drop back some. And it did. It's now .02. If it hadn't dropped, I still had the rest that I could hold on to while I was waiting for it to hit $3 or higher. We could do that with this board, but
it might be easier to sell the entire amount of the stock. Of course, we will not want to keep all of our money in any one stock. It was suggested that we only buy very low priced stocks because it is easier for a low priced stock to double or even triple, than it is for a high priced stock. However, there
can always be special situations with higer priced stocks. They may only go up 30 or 40%,
but a 30% increase over a short period can give the portfolio a quick boost. Anyway, people can put in their suggestions, and when
it is time to sell part of our stocks, the moderators can open it up to discussion and then decide what to buy. They may not actually buy/sell stocks, but just see what the bid/ask is at the time they decide to buy/sell or if the stock doesn't have a bid/ask, then see what it's price is at that time. They could keep a running total of how the portfolio is doing. Or it could be that real money will be used. I'm not sure how we would do that. When a buy or sell decision is
made, there may only be some moderators present and who knows how many of us would be
there to see the post. I work wierd hours and
I never know when I'm going to get to this board. I came up with the suggestion for this board and when I finally got back here, wow, two pages of posts. I actually have $2,000 that I'm thinking of investing. $1,000
I was going to use for investing specifically
according to the buy/sell reccomendations that are posted here, and the other $1,000 I was going to make my own choices and see how I do that way. So again, if anybody knows how
other boards do this, or have an idea on how we can do it, then jump in with your suggestions. This may take a few days to set up, but it will be worth it. That will also give people time to come up with their own money, and by the way, it doesn't have to be $1,000, it can be $500 or $5,000 etc. And as I said at the very beginning of this post,
"This is going to be fun." I'm not sure when I will be able to get back here, it may not be for several days, maybe by that time someone will have gotten this started. Go for it!

I think we should come up with a procedure on how to pick, discuss, decide and execute an order for the board.
IMHO we could work this way.
1. We work initially on a weekly basis. We select stocks during the week, and post our DD for discussion on the board.
2. We focus on a 3 to 5 picks discussion initially so as not to make it too extensive.
3. Discussion could be maintained on Allstocks, but we should centralized DD on a web page, maintained by the moderator. In this way follow up of common DD will be easier.
4. By Fridays we should come up with a clear understanding of the investing opportunities.
5. We set up a Poll for everyone to vote based on their own DD.
6. Every one will be able to read the result of the Poll online.

I've set up a quick example on how the Poll could work. Check it at http://sakata.servehttp.com

Hope this can give some order on how to proceed.

Regards,

J

Here is my post for support.
As for a moderator, I agree with Star, We need a moderator who can watch this thing regularly.

If were taking votes for a moderator, My vote goes to Cabbage or Offshore. I know, one person, one vote. Perhaps this is the primaries and we nominate our choices. I still nominate Cabbage and Offshore.

I am volunteering my time as needed to research, However, I can not always be here as a constant. I work also...

One more thought.
We all have opinions and some of us are a little more vocal about our opinion. I think the moderator, whoever he/she is, has the last say in any dispute about picks. Also, I believe the “I told you so”, responses can be kept to a minimum. We need to work as a team and share in the successes and failures as a team.

Tony
