Hey guys,

I'm new to this board. Very good info and it seems like a lot of you guys are experienced traders and follow the markets well.

I just graduated from school and have been following the markets for 2 years, trading a fake portfolio at VirtualStockExchange.com. I finally have enough $ to toss around and will be opening a Scottrade account soon. My question is about Buy/Sell signal software.

Has anyone used something like this?
What are your experiences?

I am debating between getting a subscription to a software or ZacksElite.com. I just got done with a 2 week free trial to this website that tracks earnings estimates and estimates revisions for thousands of stocks that i thought was very useful. Before i pull the trigger, i was hoping to get some input on what you guys thought.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

1. I would reconsider and not go with Scottrade... alot of people have not had good experiences with them especially when it comes to trading pennies... consider Choicetrade.com or other sites..

2. Im myself do not use such software but can only make a recommendation such as Metastock... but why pay when you can analyze stocks for free with free charting software and such... i like using Bigcharts.com ... also you sound like your more of a Fundamentalist then a Technician.. reconsider that as well... Fundamental analysis only tells you the health of a company and not when to enter or exit a trade... try to concentrate more on Technical Analysis if you intend to be a "trader" and not a "investor"...

From what I see from Vector Vest, it seems to be signals based on technical analysis. I am more interested in swing trading if I had to pick a "style". I like the action but I work 60hr weeks and can't day trade. Like I said, I just graduated and have enough scratch to trade, but not at a huuuuge volume because the commissions, although low, would eat up any profits I make.

Choicetrades.com was interesting. Any other recommendations?
