a stock that increases in pps dramatically, usually due to some type of news which is expected or news that has already been released and has introduced high volume which will carry over to the next trading day. just because people post picks does not mean that specific stock will run tommorow, make sure to do your own due dilligance before jumping into anything off of someones advice.

Potential Gapper = A stock one owns and has owned for a longer-than-hoped-for length of time and the shareholder is fervently praying for it to gap so he can get the hell out.

Will, curious about the same thing, I took the most mentioned stocks from December's '2006 Stock Picks' thread and set up a portfolio for them. I bought 5000 shares of each for a total of $600. Current portfolio value is $736.
The most mentioned stock in that thread were CNES, CLBE, LFWK, PBLS, SSTY, GLIF, and CTUM.

Ok, that thread was not a "gapper" thread, but stocks people saw as favorable for the coming year, if I am to believe the title of the thread. Still in the same genral mode as this one. Looking at the ones you mentioned, it appears PBLS has carried the list to the +$136.00, probably accounts for most of it. I find these "gapper" and the threads designed to pump these diluted stocks that people are stuck in do Allstocks a diservice. Threads for specific picks with reason to support an opinion, or a method and system that has been explained are much more beneficial to everyone. The answer is to not post on "gapper" type threads, but there will always be someone available and wanting to pump something they're stuck in. Allstocks is only as good as its members. Many people come and go through these pages, good ones, and some not so good. I guess I was fortunate while searching for a BB home that good people with quality post were here when I first arrived. Imagine someone searching for a quality BB, and they stumble accross something as inferior as this thread. That person doesn't necessarily have to be new to investing, he/she might just be new to Allstocks, and posess some great experience, but because he sees this type product, we have cheated ourselves out of his experience, knowledge, skill, and ability by participating in something with little or no substance.

You have to do your dd before buying. no one is forcing you to buy. Everyone has their own opinions. Sometimes it gaps sometimes it doesn't. We all know and understand the risk in investing in penny stock.
