Press Release for Family Room Entmt Corp

Emmett/Furla Doubles Up With DMX
1/9/2004 6:45:00 AM
LOS ANGELES, Jan 9, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Emmett/Furla Films is pleased to announce that they are in negotiations with DMX, through its film production company Bloodline Films, to act in and co-produce two feature films.

One picture under negotiations is "Winners" from the screenplay by Gregory Poppen and Pierre Plater from a story by Pierre Plater and Benjamin Watkins. Randall Emmett and George Furla of Emmett/Furla Films, along with Mark Walker and Delilah Walker of Renaissance Entertainment and Pierre Plater and Jeff Rice, will produce the picture. Gregory Poppen will direct the picture. "Winners" is the story of a young architect who, after witnessing the murder of his best friend, must for the first time in his life stand up for what he believes in and protect those he loves.

The other picture under negotiations is "Past Tense" from a screenplay by Paul J. da Silva. Randall Emmett and George Furla of Emmett/Furla Films, along with Tucker Tooley and Vincent Newman of Newman/Tooley Films, will produce the picture. J.C. Spink and Chris Bender of BenderSpink will executive produce the picture. Stanley Tong ("Rumble in the Bronx" & "First Strike") will direct the picture. "Past Tense" is the story of a young cop specializing in Asian gangs who must aid an older, more experienced cop in bringing a Hong Kong gang leader to justice.

Family Room Entertainment Corporation ( FMLY ), with its subsidiaries Emmett/Furla Films Productions, Emmett/Furla Films Distribution and EFF Independent, is a publicly held company trading on the NASDAQ Bulletin Board under the symbol "FMLY." Family Room Entertainment develops, produces and performs production-related services for the entertainment industry. Family Room Entertainment's aim is to create and produce high quality motion pictures with high profile talent that can be distributed to a worldwide audience. FMLY derives its income from producer fees, consulting and service fees as well as its participation in the profits of the various pictures it produces.

The FMLY co-founders, Randall Emmett and George Furla, believe that they have the expertise and contacts within the entertainment industry, specifically in the competitive production and distribution arenas, to profitably acquire content, package product by adding value to the content with top quality talent, and produce motion pictures with moderate to higher level budgets which can be distributed to a mass worldwide audience. However, there is no assurance that any motion picture which has not yet been released will be released, that a change in the scheduled release dates of any such films will not occur or, if such motion picture is released, it will be successful.
