Mad Catz Interactive (MCZ) puts hard-core gamers in the virtual driver's seat with its auto racing simulation controllers and other video game accessories. The world's largest third party video game accessories company, MCZ makes joysticks and other video game controllers and sells them through 12,000 global retailers.

Its products are made by third parties in Asia and are designed to be used with Microsoft, Nintendo, SEGA, Sony, and other PC game systems. In 2003, the company acquired the GameShark brand of video game enhancements. MCZ has also opened a London office and has been selected as a supplier for U.K. consumer electronics heavyweight, Dixons Group.

On June 10 MCZ announced record annual sales for the year ended March 31, 2004. Revenues for the year rose 11.4% to $102.1 million with gross profit increasing 10.1% to $23.1 million. MCZ also reported net income of $1.0 million.

Commenting on the results, Darren Richardson, President and CEO of MCZ stated, "Exceeding $100 million in net sales marks an important milestone and sets a new benchmark. Mad Catz' improved sales and close inventory and balance sheet management allowed us to reduce our bank debt by approximately $1.9 million, contributing to a reduction in interest expenses in the fourth quarter and for the full year."

Looking at fiscal 2005, Richardson added, "We intend to continue to grow our business while making targeted investments in people, infrastructure and intellectual property with a view toward driving profitable growth..."
