I have never even played a game of golf. I want to so bad....but I dont want to look dumb on the course. I was thinking about going to get some used clubs for cheap to practice on ..try to find a course where nobody goes and practice.

thats a good idea...I might suggest getting a bigger headed driver and irons ,if you can find them... and then, hit the range and get comfortable. Maybe get a club pro to give a few lessons to learn the basics..

then on to a par 3 course..weekdays are best for fewer people.
