i'm looking to get a good printer fax...

i want photo quality and i don't want to get ripped off when i buy ink...
anybody got one they like?

second that emotion...

i don't mind "recycling" ink cartridges, but the ones that have the head as part of the cartridge seem to print really bad once they've been "recycled"..

Every time I've messed with that chit...

I looked like the guy the tattoo boys threw out the back door

and I'm somewhat of a technician, lol

I can handle live circuits, 30-feet in da air, with the wind blowin' da bucket...

that ink thang sucks, imho...

I've got a brothers laser printer with a fax and scanner...They go for around 300 bucks(bought mine for 700 a couple years back) ...I have had NO problems with it and I use it everyday. They have upgraded versions that are Super fast and have all the bells and whistles...but this is mine..gets the job done.

ya...I got a Brother, too. But it's inkjet, which is code for "free multifunction machine, cuz we're really selling ink"...

seems like we have gone thru dozens of printers here. we seem to get a "free" one with every new desktop.
when they run out of ink? i just throw 'em away [Big Grin]

it's gotta be color.

the ones with the print head incorporated into the cartridge either clog or the copper wears thin and they don't print clean anymore.

Sounds like you guys have problems with your printers that can be solved simply by calling your customer service or technical reps from the companies you bought the printers from. [Smile]

I had a problem with my computor the other day that i thought originated from my service provider. So I decided to take an adventure into the world of customer service/tech support. Of course i got the computor aided answering service that starts by asking you to either state your phone number or enter it on the key pad. I spoke the number first time around and their computor speaks back a completely different number. After yelling into the phone and beating it on the desk for about five minutes i gave up and decided to call back and use the key pad.

I enter in the number on the key pad this time around and the computor reads it back correctly, and required that i confirm with a yes or no answer. I say 'yes' it is correct and the computor ask's did you say 'no'? Again i start my yelling and beating the phone. I try to get a service rep with no luck.

So i call back a third time and finally beat the system and actually get a service rep. Quite to my surprise he spoke and understood English and was actually ansering the call in the USA, talk about hitting the lottery.

I asked this service rep how many times customers have told him they would like to shove that answering service up someone's rear end. He laughed.

I told him when i get this type of service, which seems to be most of the time now, i find myself yelling in the phone. I sometimes stop and wonder if they might have a camera in my room and someone is going to knock at my door and say "you're on Candid Camera."

i like to get references from personal experience if possible. the salesperps don't usually know wtf they are talking about.
