Nope, ......I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you? So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people. They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winning and former Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim Males between the ages 17 and 40 alone lest they be guilty of profiling. Let's send this to as many people as we can so that the Gloria Aldreds and other dunder-headed attorneys along with Federal Justices that want to thwart common sense, feel doubly ashamed of themselves -- if they have any such sense. As the writer of the award winning story "Forrest Gump" so aptly put it, "Stupid is as stupid does."

Come on people wake up!!! Keep this going. Pass it on to everyone in your address book. Our Country and our troops need our support.

P. S. And guess who bombed London?

More of your ultra simple minded distortions of fact.

Get serious and consider the overall situation and facts, honestly for a change.

The idiot that shot and killed from the Tower at the University of Texas was from Florida.

The one that shot up Virginia tech was American raised from age 8, an American citizen, was not Muslim, and was not Arab.

The one that shot Reagan was from Colorado.

The Columbine gang didn't include any arabs or Muslems.

D.B.Cooper was 100 % American.

The D.C. Snipers were NOT Muslems and the leader was a discharged honorably from the U.S. military.

Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols were both born and raised in the U.S., were recipiants of U.S. Military honors and awards, and were rightwing Christian faschist.

How many law abiding doctors and nurses have been killed by radical extreme rightwing christian terrorist?

_ _ _

And the list go on and on and on.

Just restricting such a list to fanatical republican far right-wing evangelical murders would go on for pages and pages.

You are certainly right citing Forrest Gump, "As the writer of the award winning story "Forrest Gump" so aptly put it, "Stupid is as stupid does.",

Bigotry is as bogotry does.

So we should just keep on screening little old ladies before they board the plane and just let the no luggage muslem extremist age 19-40 walk on unchecked. Now that makes sense.

LOL Lockman,

You are right! We must profile!

Dang, I never knew TV celebrities and cartoon characters were so violent!

If you see a smurf come down the street, TURN AROUND AND RUN AWAY!!!

You just gotta keep your eyes out for the reclusive loner, "terrorist smurf". He want's to smurf as many Americans as possible. Avoid going to places that are good targets to be smurfed up. God,I hated that show.

Of course we need to profile. Screw the "offended". If it was moderately overweight white Americans who attacked us on 911, then I would expect to get profiled.

Is uni a smurf terrorist in disguise?

I uni a moderately overweight white guy American doppleganger speaking obvious nonsense to cause us to react in a manner that striks anger in radical Muslems?

Sure seem so most of the time.

Greetings To All:

Please allow the Munchkin Man to present you with a hypothetical scenario.

You are the Director of Homeland Security.

It has come to your attention that there are two airplane flights, leaving from LaGuardia Airport, with a destination for Las Vegas, Nevada, on a given day.

The Munchkin Man will designate these airplanes as Airplane Number One and Airplane Number Two.

The Munchkin Man will now describe the passenger profile for Airplane Number One and Airplane Number Two.

Airplane Number One consists of 100 Muslim males between the ages of 21 and 50. All of the remaining passengers are evangelical Christians who are going to Las Vegas to witness to the "unsaved" in the streets and in the casinos.

Airplane Number Two conists of 100 little old ladies, all of whom belong to the same ladies' club, who are going to Las Vegas to play the slots. All of the other remaining passengers are evangelical Christians who are going to Las Vegas to witness to the "unsaved" in the streets and in the casinos.

As the Director of Homeland Security, your budget and manpower are limited.

As a result, you only have one Federal Air Marshall available to board one of these flights.

What do you do?

Choose from one of the following:

A) You place the Federal Air Marshall on Airplane Number One with the 100 Muslim males and the evangelical Christians.

B) You place the Federal Air Marshall on Airplane Number Two with the 100 little old ladies and the evangelical Christians.

C) You don't place the Federal Air Marshall on either airplane. You are afraid that you might hurt the feelings of the Muslim males if they found out you put a Federal Air Marshall on their airplane. This would mean you didn't trust them.
You are afraid you would be accused of profiling.

Those are your choices.

Which one is your choice?

If you chose A, good for you!

You profiled.

As well you should have.

If you chose B, the Munchkin Man has one question for you.

Why?

If you chose C, the Munchkin Man has some advice for you.

Please don't apply for a job in the Department of Homeland Security.

In fact, please move to another country.

The Munchkin Man has spoken.

Best Wishes,

Munchkin Man

I send the Marshall to your place, with instructions to take possesion of your physical being and proceed to Plane B, with instructions to allow you to mingle freely among the passengers.

I go to plane A. On Plane A, I handle it, all the way up to a "dead-man's brake" order on whacking the whole plane...

Meanwhile, if terrorist(s) are hidden among those passengers of Plane B, they will be among those who don't complain about you, set their own hair on fire or have their brains implode.... the terrorists will attempt to remain calm, cuz they won't understand what you're saying and can't comprehend the agitation. The Marshall monitors those who stare and act natural in your presence then acts accordingly.

So, see? really, *you* should join Homeland under the Canary-in-the-Mine provision

You're never limited to A, B, or C... lol, I invoke the "kirk" maneuver...

Beedge, you'll like this. Buddy of mine went to Poly High, late 50s. Walked out, first day of senior semester when they asked for "What You Did, Summer Vacation" essay. Just chucked it...lobbed his books into locker, and walked away...never to return to high school.

Time passes, he becomes a true scholar, a research genious. Along the way, in grad school, he gets an essay question re Twain/Clemens: Describe the fundamental differences and motivations driving Becky and Huck.

Instead of a traditional essay, he wrote:

"Becky wanted in; Huck wanted out."

He got an A...

How's this for my Kobiashi answer.
We don't need any air marshals on any planes because we are FRIGGEN AMERICANS.
If some moron of any genetic make up tries to harm any of us we pound the living crap out of them... for hours... and hours.
Allowing feds to monitor civilian travel this closely is a bad precedent which we will come to regret in the near and long term.
This whole ordeal is a play to have us vote our rights away.
Vote our freedom away.
Vote our country away.
This profiling uproar is a distraction tactic.

Yes, Tex, I do like it. Scholarship is not a matter of digesting the fare and tedium of school or school books.

Remember the old saw, "them that can do and them that can't teach". You go to school to learn to do, not to learn to teach or even what to teach.

Those that were your teachers almost are guaranteed to be those who couldn't do and have no idea what it is. With any luck, you will not become stagnant in the busy work of being a student and may become a scholar instead.

That said, I insist that proper teaching is the art of making students realize far beyond what you do.......making them have no duty to anything but their own abilities.

Imagination and intellectual capability is the essence of education and its reward, not learning job skills. Real learning never stops, once begun.

Greetings To All:

The Munchkin Man remembers an old episode of All In The Family, in which Archie Bunker proposes a solution for putting an end to all airplane hijackings.

"Arm the passengers."

As outrageous as this idea may first appear to be, think about it.

A lone nut case who tries something during a flight will be stopped instantly by one or more of the saner passengers.

Archie's advice can also be applied to terrorism.

A group of terrorists aboard a flight will know from the beginning that all of the non-terrorists have guns that can be used against them.

A group of terrorists aboard a flight would have to make up a plurality of the passengers, in order to have any hopes of pulling off their operation.

Arming the passengers on all airplane flights would stack the odds overwhelmingly against the terrorists.

However, this idea might not work for the Munchkin Man.

The Munchkin Man has a fear of guns.

Best Wishes,

Munchkin Man

I do not know about that plan Munchkin Man. I would prefer to take that alternate flight with no guns and take my chances, especially when flying with my kids and grand kids.

I guess if i was looking for a little more excitement which i am not, i would take the flight with all the guns and take my chances. Are there any limits to the size of gun which i could carry? If i was not a person that hated guns, i would carry a M-60 aboard, just to help even out the sides.(as long as were going down anyway) Now days there is probably a much better fire arm, or maybe a nice anti-tank weapon.

How about issuing with each boarding pass a spray can of pepper spray or mace.

Posted by IWISHIHAD on :

Mace or pepper spray that would work.

How about a nice Louisville Slugger, that would sure make them think twice what might be headed their way. The terrorists might not die, which might be their biggest fear, not dying probably does not fit into their indoctrination process.

It may sound like a good alternative to firearms on a plane at first but, mace or pepper spay in a closed environment such as an airplane cabin is definately NOT a good idea.

Interstingly, some reports on the 9/11 hijackings suggested the presence of mace and/or pepper spray in the cabin, and there were indications that passengers had difficulty breathing.

Authorities believe this indicated that the terrorists created a “sterile” area around the cockpit by isolating the passengers and attempting to keep them away from the forward cabin, in part, by using mace or pepper spray.

Also, Pepper spray was found in Atta’s checked luggage that was recovered at Logan Airport.

I didn't mean my post to be taken seriously.

I expected it should be obvious to anyone that loosing pepper spray or mace inside a confined area where the air is continuously recirculated would do.

I considered the possiblilty of supplying each seat with a baseball bat, but, actually, in a confined area in which there might be just one kook, the effects are not dissimilar to using mace.

I'm quite certain five or ten of us redneck cowboy Americans can whip the crap out of a handfull of hijackers... With or without bats or pepper spray.

Unfortunately none of our ideas made a lot of good sense, but they sound good. To many other factors involved in all the ideas.

Besides who would want to waste a good Louisville Slugger that way.

I dont see anything wrong with profiling. There gonna do it no matter what. All you extreme left liberal Al Franken Parots need to just get a grip.

Can anybody help but profile? Can anyone who takes in current events be immuned to 1st impressions?

Get real girls and stop with the Liberal Masochistic views.

We have enemy's out there and it just so happens that they carry some of the same atributes.

Hows bout we just plug in ALLLLLL the info from attacks over the years and let the computer pick who has to step off the line?

The Libs will continue to oppose anything and everything. There mentality is perfect for the exploitation of "Reverse Psychology"

There is a legitimate reason for all types of profiling. It is only when it is used improperly that there could be a problem..If I went to a country where white women that fill my description were committing terrorist acts and the physical aspects fit me to a tee, you better expect I would be scrutinized more than others, and I would expect that to be the case, If not, I would consider that to be a very foolish and ignorant action on their part....

Trip to Japan in 1990. Go to Nagasaki, visit the Holland Village. Sit down outside to have lunch, group of 10 year old school kids are there also.

2 of the kids come up to me, kick me in the legs, scream something in Japanese and walk off.

Yea, profiling is fine.

What are your qualifications for dictating what does constitute, and what does not constitute, what you call "proper teaching?"

Granted, students do have a duty to themselves to develop their own God given abilities.

They also have the duty to become good citizens.

They also have the duty to learn the basic skills to map out their own destinies.

They also have the duty to obey the laws of society.

They also have the duty to respect authority.

They also have the duty to support their country.

They also have the duty to support America's armed forces during a time of war.

They also have the duty to support their President during a time of war.

In turn, all parents and teachers have the duty to teach their children good solid patriotic values and a love for America.

You have taken an extremely elitist and idealistic position on education.

Granted, the development of one's imagination and intellectual capability are noble and desirable aims of education.

Unfortunately, many students do not possess the intellectual tools to meet these endeavors.

For many students, learning job skills and survival skills must serve as the essense and reward of education.

Not every student has the capability to become an Albert Einstein.

Not every student has the capability to become a Munchkin Man.

Sad how everything that comes from your "edumicated" point of view always seems to end up in insults. Maybe you’re not as educated as you've led everybody to think. I simply asked a question regarding your requirement for others to be "qualified" on certain subjects. Now I don't know because obviously I'm not the scholar that you would have us believe that you are but you appear to be (sarcasm if you’re having a difficult time following) running dangerously close to being a Bushie republican in your attempt to restrict others speech that you don't deem as qualified. Hmmm… I wonder if you’re an elitist in disguise?

Blue collar Joe,

Your first post here was an insulting attempt at a personal attack, offering no information on the topic, just a rude and aggressive simple minded smear. Can you actually be surprised you got a response suited thereto?

Your claim that you "simply asked a question regarding (my) requirement for others to be "qualified" on certain subjects" is a blunt lie.

First, you did not ask ever, anywhere, at any time, if I had any "requirement for others to be "qualified" on certain subjects".

What you did say was "Please list the "qualifications" in order to join this discussion." And contrary to the implication you concoct, even that, quite simply, was not your first post.

(Now that you have brought the subject up: No!!!! I impose no restrictions of any kind for anyone to voice any opinion here or elsewhere. Indeed, I have not and do not want such authority. Although, considering limits I might prefer, I note that common courtesy and mutual respect is a good practice, but it is not what you did with your initial insulting personal attack. IF YOU EXPECT RESPECT, PROVIDE IT!!!)

Now I asked, exactly what have you provided here to anyone on the subject of education (or any other). You seem to be claiming to have something to offer on the topic. Or is that just a smoke screen to cover your actual intent. There is nothing in your post but insults directed at me. Exactly what is your point?

(Do you have any experience in education and do you have any yourself? Do you have any thing of value on the subject to offer? Anything at all? I certainly don't know. Certainly, there hasn't been any thus far.)

Ok, so you can't handle the vocabulary and the sentence structure is confusing to your wee little head. Too, the opinions are not those sanctioned and glorified by your beloved far right machine.

Soooooooo......you are, you feel, by oath to the RNC or Ann Coulter or Sean Hannity or some other hate talking rightwing fascist, obligated to attack and to do so in their favorite form, by insulting and name calling and publishing hateful accusations you have no basis for.

Talk about a thug. Not only is that your most positive quality, you are ignorant of facts and willing to remain so. What you are is a crude and ignorant bully wanna-be.

You know how you operate, you come onto the playground and without even bothering to notice what the game is, you declare yourself to be the king of the hill, state rules to suit your own agenda, and dare anybody that doesn't agree try and knock the chip off your shoulder.

Ha!

Exactly what credentials do you have, if any at all?

A mama's boy with a computer and a fake identity. Real scary!

Ignorance is not actually a favorable or positive trait, in case you miss that lesson in grade school.
