has anybody else ever noticed that president Bush's ties do a weird thing on TV.

i am not joking, it may be my old TV, but his ties often have a sort of a color halo....
it looks like a red stripe interference pattern...

i never notice it on other peoples ties....

i have seen it more than once... and i am pretty sure they were different ties....

maybe it is the lights used for his speeches? cuz i don't see it every time...

LOL those guys in the white suits are on their way to pick me up right now.....

Glass, maybe it's red ink from all the deficit spending? LOL

i kind of expected you guys to think this was funny.

i go by the handle of glassman cuz i really am a trained glass artist.....
furnace,kiln,torch,stained,etched, dichroic, etc.....

my specialty is using dichroic glass, gold leaf and silver leaf.....

i notice "effects"....
there is an "effect" from his tie. i see it no matter what channel is on, and i DON'T see it on other ties around him.....

a simple explanation would be the thread count....($$$) extremely thin threads of silk or certain polymers could create this effect...
look for it....
if you watch the news tonight or in the morning, the shots from the UN speech will be on....it's a blue tie and it shimmers....

the tie thing is really about PAYING ATTENTION to details...

i see seeking the truth as my civic duty. what good is it if i keep it to myself...

i do sense that a lot of people are afraid to speak up. i don't mean here, but all over.....

this election looks like it's going to go 50/50 again.....

i just want everybody to VOTE...

whoever wins is my/our commander in chief..

the politicians NEED to know that people aren't happy with the way things are going...

after the election we all have to be prepared to support the boss....

Allawi stood on the podium at the Rose Garden today and said that his country is doing good and what we are seeing on TV is false..... that's kinda disrespectful too dontya think?

Well i could'nt agree more i am sick of all this political correctness crap.Schools not grading tests in some areas because little johnny is a moron and gets an f we don't want to hurt his feelings.Thats how liitle johnny is gonna learn. It will make him try harder and want to learn.By giving him a pass he will be a moron the rest of his life.Thats just one small example of this nowaday crap. They tried to have a little league group that did'nt keep score what a bunch of horse feathers. What happened to the will to win that drives people and to become the best,or at least it makes you try and you will be better for it.Glassman you fired me up.If you read some of my posts I am normally very uumm uumm reserved and uumm uumm quiet and keep my opinion to myself (BS)(I got some good used stock i would like to sell you also)LOL.GET OFF YOUR ASS AND VOTE PEOPLE!

It sounds like you guys are angry and disappointed by the gov't lying, scheming, all that dirty stuff, and rightfully so of course. It's cool to read that some Republicans are still willing to question what their Prez is doing. That being said, do you guys honestly believe that any of this will go away due to more people voting? If 100% of the country voted and elected either Kerry or Bush, do you think that the government will become more honest, more interested in helping average people, more transparent, etc? Maybe I am too much of a skeptic but it seems to me that either choice is going to elect a gigantic shadow government, the same one that's been in control for decades and decades.... jmho

getting a larger voter turnout is one first step.....
it require MORE participation...
what some of us are trying to do on the internet (blogging?) may help....

Glassman, you must be very good at your artistic talents, because some of the subjects you find the time to talk about, are goofy! Ties? I can see you, making one beautiful piece of glass, every so often, and selling it for the moon; and then sitting here, sharing your thoughts on just about everything! Your mind must be going, all of the time!

Posted by glassman on :

art is relative thing Kate, good art by definition is rarely apreciated in its own time.

you're correct ties are goofy, but i personally think it's goofy that so many people are saying they will vote for Bush cuz he looks more presidential....

do you realise we haven't lost this many jobs since the great depression, and that oil hit 50$ a barrel today?????

as far as this thread goes, does it concern you that the Iraqi's are being re-armed with the weapons of our enemies?

how do our troops identify the enemy?
in training exersizes, anybody carrying an AK-47 is a target........

does this seem like the Iraq situation is being managed well?

in my not so humble opinion we are in big trouble and i hold Fearless Leader accountable for HIS actions.....

Ok, I bit! Oh yes, Glass, it all concerns me, but I see so many conflicting reports; jobs in our area seem to be better! People are buying homes, boats, cars, etc! I also have to ask myself, how much better would ANYONE else of done, given they had to be president after 9/11, and all of the destruction from the hurricanes, and now an earthquake? Where are they taking these polls? I believe we all have to be accountable for what we do, but we can't lay all the blame on one man, when you've got a congress and senate that have to vote for anything and everything, and as we all know, they are always split on most issues! How do they figure we would be better off, not going after the terrorists? If we decided to sit on our butts, and not do anything, how many more of our buildings would be blown up, and how many more thousands of our people would be dead? How many more of Iracs people would be dead? I know we have lost 1000 give or take, of our wonderful soldiers, but how many thousands of the wonderful Iracis have died? You see, God sees us all as equals! He loves them, just exactly the same as he loves our soldiers! We can't sit over here, and allow terrorists to take over the world! They are always going to be here, and we are always going to have to fight them. That is the state of the world we now live in! It is a matter of good against evil, as it has always been, but we have to choose which side of the fence we want to be on, not walk the top of it. Not pointing fingers, just making a point! By the way, I used to be a moderate, and I am NOW a conservative!
I personally, look for what the man running for president MORALLY believes first, because I know that he will at least try to do what he says! If the man running, is for abortion,or for gay marriage, I don't vote for them, because they conflict with what I believe as a Christian, and what it says in God's Word, and I normally don't trust them. And if anyone reading this, is gay, it doesn't mean I don't care about you, because I do, I just don't agree with gay marriage! Then, you get the arguement not to put religion and government together, they don't belong in the same place. Well, I don't agree with those statements, because if God is everywhere, including reading these posts, then you can't take him out of where he already is! Glass, I was just teasing you about doing your glass! I deeply admire people who have your talent, and I understand what it is, to have that artistic drive in your life. I also do a lot of creating; not just knitting and crocheting, but tatting, bobbin lace making, counted cross, needlepoint, ribbon embroidery; you name it, I've done it for the most part, and I love giving them as gifts! Ok, I quit. Let me have it! Nicely guys!

Thank you for YOUR honesty Kate. If i felt that the president was showing as much integrity in his responses to our questions as you are to mine, i could find more support for him in my heart.

The fact that he continuously responds to the same questions with the same answers over and over again tells me he is UNREPENTANT for his mistakes.

Tony Blair gave a speech to his own political party on Monday and acknowledged his mistakes. i can respect that.....

another issue that i find preposterous is that people seem to "know" more about Kerry from the White House than they do from Kerry himself. this is part of what i mean when i say we are seeing one of the biggest propaganda campaigns in history. it is an interesting study in how the media is run.....and does make me wonder who is running the media.....

I was reading through the interview transcripts....looking for answers on his version of why we went in....

BUSH:: Well, the, in the first resolution that took place in — right after my, well not right after my speech, but shortly after my speech, at the General Assembly in 2002, — the resolution said, the resolution said, disclose, disarm, or face serious consequences, and France voted aye. When it came time, after diplomacy had failed, to define serious consequences, that's where we had a divergence of opinion. I believe when international bodies speak, they ought to, — they ought to mean what they say. And I believe when a President speaks, he ought to mean what he says.

-he does talk a little about the missing WMD's and unanswered questtions etc....

same old stuff, i personally dont see the need for apologies etc....

Posted by keithsan on :

blairs apology.....?

In his speech Tuesday, Blair came closer than ever before to apologizing for the misleading prewar intelligence about Iraq.

"I can apologize for the information that turned out to be wrong, but I can't, sincerely at least, apologize for removing Saddam," he said.

Posted by glassman on :

starting to realise why i am so hard on Bush? that's about as much of an apology as i ever expected. didn't come from Bush did it? all Bush has done is strut around saying i did the right thing no matter what.....
thats why i started digging around looking for the New American Century stuff etc.....

secondly, i clearly remember and can verify that Saddam said --i have disarmed....which was true...

the argument is simple. we could have inspected Iraq to our hearts content without invading the way we did. Saddam had no other reason to be stubborn than pride. Pride cometh before the fall, and that works BOTH ways.

Posted by glassman on :

the republicans have spent 90% of their campaigning telling US how awful Kerry is--instead of telling US how Bush is going to make improvements...cuz he says he doesn't plan to, OR NEED, to do anything different...
yes, Kerry started telling US how bad Bush is, three, four weeks ago, because he is losing in the polls.
(i have theory about the polls being pretty wrong tho... it has to do with cell-phones)

IMO the only reason we are not in a more serious recession has nothing to do with our tax breaks. it's because we have BORROWED more than we ever have before. i am not a big fan of borrowing this heavily. esp since most of the money we have borrowed, federal and retail, seems to be from overseas....

Thankyou Tigertony; I'm doing much better, as you can see by the last few huge posts! Typing doesn't seem to be a problem anymore! My doctor said my knitting is great for therapy, and I've been doing a lot of that, and it seems to be going fine. My fingers get a little stiff after a while, but I figure that is the muscles healing! Thank the Lord! I could've had stubby fingers, and I am thankful I don't!
