What would the world be like if more journalists actually spoke the truth instead of continuing their lockstep march with the fascists? Probably a better one. -------------------- "Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." - Benjamin Franklin

There was a time when most journalist worked constantly to speak the truth instead of currying favor in order to get invited to White House parties. Now though, we have whole networks of newspapers, radio stations, and tv stations that exist totally to propagandize for the Party. Is it any wonder that persons that have lived their whole lives bombarded with the lies and slanted far right views of the Party are so brainwashed as to be unable to even recognize that their own independence has been stolen? This is supposed to be a nation of the people, not of the Party. Please, if you are so limited in view as to think Party loyalty surmounts loyalty to the Nation or defines patroitism, go away and stop advancing the destruction of the Constitution.

The slide into blatent propoganda began when Reagan abolished the fairness doctrine, which legislated equal time for opposing viewpoints. The deregulation of broadcast ownership rules has now allowed a few gigantic GOP-backed companies to own virtually all the media outlets. And they are coming for the Internet next. Fear terrorists? Not me. I fear our government. -------------------- "Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." - Benjamin Franklin

It's also very interesting how frightened of the truth some on this board are. -------------------- "Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." - Benjamin Franklin

Something pissed him off indeed. The very same things that should be pissing off all thinking Americans. -------------------- "Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." - Benjamin Franklin

Olberman understands that fundamentally, the United States is nothing other than the Constitution. Destroy the Constitution and the United States is destroyed, along with all the freedoms we claim to cherish.

It's interesting how Bush's supporters scurry away like roaches when the light (ie. the truth) is turned on, isn't it? -------------------- "Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." - Benjamin Franklin

The greatest thing about this commentary is that he directs the anger exactly where it belongs. Refreshing. -------------------- "Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." - Benjamin Franklin

Olberman recognizes that the real danger is the republican asault on the Constitution. The Constitution is this Country and this Country fails without it.
