for those who thought it was a good idea to send Missionaries to Iraq and Afghanistan?
a major part of the reason we are now in a prolonged war is THIS:

The trial judge holds the bible he says belonged to the accused An Afghan man is being tried in a court in the capital, Kabul, for converting from Islam to Christianity.
It is thought to be Afghanistan's first such trial, reflecting tensions between conservative clerics and reformists.

Oh, you can give it to them, but if you do, you can be assured they will break it. That is even more true when the people are religious.
Religion inherently denies democratic principles. That includes Christians even more than Moslems, in case you haven't read the bible. Democracy can only thrive in a society that firmly rejects any and all yield of consideration to any religious principle in it's laws.

Glass, being a Christian, means being willing to die for your faith, because you KNOW what is waiting for you when you die! Something much better than we have here on this earth!
I personally, knew a young man, from Turkey, who was unable to tell his parents that he became a Christian, when he went home, because in Turkey,they put them to death! He came here for two summers, to check out our colleges, and while here the first summer, he accepted Jesus as his Savior! You never saw such a change in a human being! He was full of joy, and love! He was baptized in the lake, the same day that I was, and when he came up out of the water, he was praising God, and asked us to pray for his parents! He was soooooo talented! He played the celo, piano, anything he could get his hands on, and he memorized the hymns he learned, at our church! He was looking into going to school, for his musical talents! The first winter home, he didn't tell his parents, and hid the cross necklace he got while here, and the pictures of him, wearing it, we kept for safe keeping at the pastors house! We were so afraid for him! The second summer here, he came back very disturbed! It was right after the major earthquake they had, and some of his best friends were killed! He was determined to tell his parents about Jesus, when he went home. Not too soon after, we were notified, that Emre drowned in his bathtub! He was 20 years old! We believe his father drowned him, to save him from a worse death, from others in Turkey, because he had told his parents about Jesus! As Christians, we know where he is! He is in heaven with our Lord Jesus! Was it worth it for him to die? He now knows perfect love with Jesus, and has life eternal! YES!!!! This life on earth, is but a second in eternity! It matters what we do with it! I am telling you again, because I care about you! Kate

you don't want to see the truth do you?
i got no problem with people dying for their faith... whether it's faith in country or God (whatever name you call God) (i might also point out that it's easy for you to sit in some Christian city in the Allegheny Mountains and tell US how you have to be willing to die for your faith...)
the point is? Bush sent our troops over there and they collected a few guns and that's about it... they let the bad guys in the front door, collected their RPG's/ some of their AK's and sent 'em out the back door.. NOW? they grow opium and kill Christians in legal court...
Bush and co couldn't get done with the Taliban fast enough to to go "DO" Iraq...
you are so blind about Bush being some sort of great leader, you can't see how he hasn't done anything but talk... and basically screwed up most of what he touches
the fact is? the Muslims don't want Christian Missionaries in their countries, and Missionaries are just one of the reasons we are gonna be fighting there for a long, long, LONG time....

Yes turkey is another friend of cristian bush along with lybia, pakistan. oh and by the way Iraq under sadam was the only middle east country cristians were welcomed. Sadams top forein minister was a christian. Damn bush cant do anything right. Women could run around in western clothing god damit.
Why did jesus call god alla? because he didn't speak english.

Were it left to Kate and her ilk, they would sentence non-christians in this country to death by slow starvation for lack of the right or chance to earn a living, but they would claim they were doing it out of "love".
I point out though, it isn't because it is christianity, it's because it is the very nature of organized religions of all varieties.

Kate knows of what she speaks. It is obvious by her remarks that she is speaking out of love, not of anger, prejudice or condescending attitudes. Her faith does not frighten me, it shows the difference between caring for all people instead of name calling and speaking down to people as some do. True christianity is NOT a religion. Many horrible things do happen and have always happened in the name of religion. Instead true christianity is having a relationship with Christ that instills in one to care and love others even when they insult and look down on you. True christianity should never frighten anyone bacause it is truly about caring and loving Christ and others.

I recall a pretty vengeful God in the old testament. How about those children who were killed in the flood or in soddom and gomorrah?
The only thing this news article does is how how bassackwards these peoples and countries are line of thought really is. There is a reason why most of the world still hasn't advanced to an industrial revolution. the rich control the poor with psychological warfare. Simple as that.

Jesus told us how to live, in the new testament. God gave us the ten comandments in the old testament. Gods wrath breaks the ten comandments, killing people with natural disasters or people killing people. We should try to follow the comandments. Jesus showed us our sins. We all killed jesus, maybe i would have been a soldier in that time, just following orders executing prisoners, or part of the mob looking for self rightousness, or a religous leader needing control. This is hapening again all over the world.
