the local grapevine is reptorting that Tangipahoa River from Kentwood to Robertis being evacuated. A dam broke. This includes 50,000-60,000 people. There is no major news coverage on this yet

new reports say the dam didn't break completely and they are pumping the reservoir out in an attempt to do a controlled breach before it fails completely... 50, to 60,000 evacuees nonethelass.
i am just getting rain and 35 MPH wind here. he had a 100 yr old oak go down across the street in front of our house at 11:50 and the county cleared it completely at 1:02.... they had to use a very large front-end load to get the trunk (4 feet across).
we could feel the ground tremble when it cracked, adn then again when it hit the ground i would geuss that each 3 foot peice of the trunk weighs about 4000 pounds green and wet.. i would not put a peice four feet long in an F150... maybe an F250 HD but an F350 or HD (450) should be about right

LOL! Dunno about that, but yes it was probably around 10AM CT when I first read it. The link I posted was the current one from CNN. But I did read it a few hours ago originally.
