that guy looks like he's losing it from those pictures,
in his defense? i belevie he does have a right to know who he's talking to and being photographed by, don't you?
i take a lotof photos and i always ask permission before i take any personal shots, or anything that might be commercially valuable.
people always aske me if they can photograph my work at festivals too...
to just walk up to a guy with a camera and start asking questions without IDing yourself is just wrong. sure he's given up his right to privacy by holdng office, but considering all the "gotcha" stuff we see on TV and youtube everyday now?
i don't think he was being that unreasobale...
remeber the Acorn people with the hidden cameras asking for prostituion assistance?
many people automatically assume they are seeing the whole story when in fact, a little bit of planning and alot of editing can go along way in making whatever story you want out of an ambush interview... editing oftware is so simple now that a 13 yearold can do it....

yeah, that's assault and on camera, if he's a minor? he's facing serious charges...
all i'm saying is that we have created an environment in this country where this behaviour is going to be more and more common... once he laid hands on the kid? he may as well have taken the camera and destroyed it...
i'm wondering how much editing is int he video we saw too tho... we know for sure there is quiter a bit... and they most definitley did not ID themselves.
here for a "project"? comeon, "just students" why not say tehir names and the names of their school?
this has a distinct odor on it from both sides...

They aren't kids. They were college students. But I agree he still should not have grabbed the guy.

watching it again? i see that the camera was well within arms reach of him because he obviouly pushe camea aside and we could not see his hand when he did it.
i won't be surprised if the Congressman presses charges against them, not saying he's right to do oit, but it would be his best move to save himself.

yeah, at 14 seconds? i think the camera may have been within as close or closer than my monitor is right now, to his face.... i think i'd push anybody away from my face that close too... once that happens? all bets are off in my book...

Agree completely, then there is merely the congressmans word against the students if a police report were to be filed on stolen/damaged property.
this has a distinct odor on it from both sides...
True, the only problem is that the congressman touched the student. If the congressmen did nothing and kept walking, this video would not have any importance.

at 22 seconds? you can see that theres actually two cameras, the first cuts are from the guy standing right in front of the Congressman like a foot away, and the second cut is from a guy behind his buddy and you can see the camera in his had in ht second shot...
there is no clear 'good guy" or "bad guy" in this,

i live in the Congressional district of Bennie Thompson
Bennie G. Thompson (born January 28, 1948 in Bolton, Mississippi) is an American politician from the Democratic Party. He has been a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from the 2nd District of Mississippi (map) since 1993. The district includes most of Jackson and is the only majority-black district in the state. The district is approximately 275 miles (443 km) long, 180 miles (290 km) wide and borders the Mississippi River. The Mississippi Delta comprises the vast majority of the 2nd District. He is both the first Democrat and the first African American to chair the Homeland Security Committee in the House.
he has (nad has always had) multiple bodyguards everywhere he goes, and they very dangerous looking men, not the movie type of dangerous, the real dangerous guys thta know how to disapear (blend in) right in front of your face. stuff like this will make that the norm.
want to see Congress become even more insulated from reality? this is how it happens.

If this would have been a tea party candidate....wow. The left is far more ugly about stuff like this when it comes to blasting Republicans. There is such a double standard.

didn't you say that about Helen Thomas too? I beleive she was fired within 48 hours...
i don't see the double standard, i just hear sean hannity complain about it all the time...
i think he's prolly going to announce that he wants to spend more time with his family soon....
as for arrest? those kids would have to testify and there would be an investigation and i bet they don't want that at all....
i bet it turns out the "school project" was run by the the GOP national committee...
i wonder why the kids blurred out their faces?
they are already in hiding
