Stowaway's Leg Falls From Plane; Hits Long Island Home
Body parts from a man who tried to stowaway on a South Africa Airlines flight from Dakar, Senegal to New York's JFK Airport fell from the plane and landed on a Long Island home merely five miles from the airport. That timing would coincide with the dropping of the plane's landing gear. The man reportedly tried to hide in the plane's wheel.
Homeowner Pam Hearne first noticed a severed leg in her backyard at about 10:30 AM Tuesday. She heard a strange bump coming from the roof at 7:30 AM but thought nothing much of it. When she went outside, she noticed the leg which still had a sneaker attached to it.
'There was a human body part back there,' Pam Hearne told the 'New York Daily News.' 'It was rather large.'
Authorities also found the hip and a chunk of the man's torso which also fell from the plane and landed outside Hearne's Floral Park, New York home.
Nassau County Detective Lieutenant Kevin Smith said that more body parts were found inside the wheel after the plane landed.
'The body was badly battered, the clothing shredded,' Smith said. 'And the plane was battered from the body parts.'
The pilot of the plane reported hearing 'unusual vibrations' shortly after takeoff from Dakar at 11:40 PM New York time Monday night. A check of the plane's instruments revealed no irregularities and the flight continued to JFK.
The plane's connecting flight from New York to South Africa was delayed while authorities continued to investigate the incident.

A man can conceal himself inside an aeroliner wheel well. What prevents a man from concealing a bomb in an aeroliner wheel well?

Well, that poor man got into the country, and into the country, and into the country...
However, if he had planted a bomb which would be triggered by a descent to under two-thouand feet, what would rain down would be a disaster.
