I am new to investing. I own a few stocks and am curious as to what kind of potential these micro penny stocks have. Can any of you tell me what major companys started out as micro penny stocks because im trying to research this. And i have found that most stocks that are high right now started out high for ex. google. Your help is appreciated

i think one company that comes to mind that I read somewhere was MCI ... i think they started out very small (micro) and became huge... but dont quote me on that lol just research their IPO etc.. but in general .. Micro and/or penny stocks are not usually for long term investing/trading... they are more for short-term trading (daytrading, swingtrading, position trading etc.) .... if you are new to trading do you know any trading techniques , analysis (technical or fundamental) etc.?

i dont know much. For the most part i just look at a stock and see if i think it has a good product that may take off soon. For example i had success with sirius and xmsr they have both done well for me. right now im looking at stem cells and gtel i dont know much about the companys just that what there doing seems very promising

I wish some of these guys who have been doing this for years would give some examples of pennies that became legit stocks.

I already gave a example SGT. ... i said MCI the phone company before it merged and became MCI/WORLDCOM ... i read somewhere years ago they were a penny stock when it was a IPO.. I tried to find out what its IPO price was but couldnt find it .. so instead of whining to us... google it yourself... might be educational...

Well I was not speaking with just you. Thank you for your pic MCI but if I recall correctly MCI became a penny stock after the telecom fall. I beileve they cancelled the stock and came back as MCI worldcom I could be wrong though. As far as whining I was simply trying to get information from people with more background on the subject than me. This is what a message board is for. NO ONE asked you to respond twice you can come up with one company thank you now move on

You whined twice but once was enough.. as for MCI.. they were MCI/Worldcom when they hit bottom yes but that is not when i was talkin about them.. I was talking years ago when they were only MCI and had a IPO (look it up if you do not know what the 3 letters mean or their definition... )... if you like you can move on as well.. no reply needed.. thanks...

Just my opinion
I would listen to Mach anytime. He's made a very good effort to help newbie's around here and his advise is always sound IMHO. We don't trade the same but that does not mean I don't respect what he does. Now show me what you have contributed to the boards and perhaps I change my opinion on you.

By the way seems all he told you was do some of your own DD

No I asked a simple question and he claimed I was whining I would say that would be childish. He does not have the knowledge or experience to offer an answer so he tells me to look somewhere else and was very rude about it. Also Id love to see you talk to me like that in person punk

I don't think I was being childish at all.. on the other hand calling people names and making threats over the internet is quite childish... as for me not having experience or knowledge... i didnt come up with MCI out of the blue so obviously i knew about it i just dont recall its IPO price nor could i find it so i suggested that you perhaps do your own DD instead of everyone else doing it for you... anyways I was trying to be the adult by saying that we were being childish and should ignore each other and move on... back to posting about Trading... if you want to continue with your name calling and threats then so be it but something like that reflects on one's intelligence (besides you sound like you watch too much Dirty Harry movies lol jkk dont take everything so serious geez )....

What is the point of having a board can you tell me that? Whould it not be to share information? Its funny evertime one of you can't come up with an answer you tell people to do their own dnd. Im no newbie to investing I bought agy at 1.86 6 years ago check that one out now. Bought yahoo 4 years ago at 4 nice pics huh? Keep pumping your pennies someday you might get somewhere huh

yes those are good picks you have... but im not a long term trader.. and no i dont pump any stock.. i make recommendations and suggest to people to do a DD on them before they trade in the stocks i suggest... in fact some of the stocks i suggest I havent bought into.. i just like doing TA on stocks and sharing it with others... for example last nite I posted a thread suggesting ABMC on the Hot Picks forum... check the charts/TA on that one today (right now im looking at it as of 1:00 EST so its way up)... but you are right.. there is alot of pumping/dumping on this board as well as others thats why (the ones that dont pump/dump) we always stress DD including to you..

Bottom line I have posted this question asking if anyone has examples of pink sheet companies that have wen't legit and have came up with very few. The conclusion I draw is that these are alright for daytraders but when it comes to the long term they are just like playing the lottery. I see alot of people on this board and others trying to push some sub penny stock and claim they are coming out with the next big thing and its about to pop anyday. Then when that stock plummets the same people are back with something new.

true.. about the pumpers/dumpers and what you said about them coming back with new stocks etc.. but no one ever said that penny stocks are for long term investors or micro stocks at least.. pennies are for short-term trading only (daytrading, swingtrading, & position trading)... for long term investing your better off with stocks $5 and over.. anything below is pure speculation and should be for trading not investing.. one stock that comes to mind about what you said is Qbid.. everyone and their mother was pumping it.. saying read about its product and services etc etc.. then once the stock tanked and everyone made their money... u dont hear them talking about that stock anymore.. only newbies talk about Qbid and are trying to pump it again...

I hope that this post wasn't directed at me SGT. All I did was state an opinion which I have every right to do. There was no insult in or intended in my post. I still stand by the fact that MACH does not deserve to be called a pumper. If your still looking for penny's that went big define your search a little what do you consider a penny stock? Most people say anything under 5.00 is a penny and what do you consider making it big?

Here's a couple I consider making it. SIRI was at .20 last year or the year before if I remember right and is over 7.00 now. I bought enron when it went banko at abot .42 and its over 11.00 now.

Now if your post was intended for me I give you my opinon on saying anything to you face. I would not type what I would not face you with so don't talk like your a big man on a chat board.
If it was not ment for me then ignore that as there is still no insult intended.

Imagine buying a tiny $.0312 Shell Stock that traded as high $50 six weeks later! A $1000 investment would have been worth $1,600,000 at its high! See Stock – SXML.

EMTK - do your due diligence. Will be over $1 by year's end. You just have to show patience!

By the way, very entertaining! Almost as good as the SIRI board on Yahoo.

GZFX went from Oct 2003 .0001 to .20 in March of 2004. Thats 200,000% or 2000 times your original investment. A $1000 dollar investment would have netted a 2 Million dollar return.

not many if any people hold a Microstock that many months though... most of them tank and it would of been a huge risk to your bankroll.. [Roll Eyes]
