I know that you were asking glass, but as for me, I do like Paul. He is probably my favorite when it comes to domestic policies (mainly cause he would pursue getting rid of the IRS and appears to be for a weak fed govt). I am concerned with his foreign policy though.....that is actually ironic to me too because I have stated on this board that I am somewhat of "seperationist/protectionist"....and a lot of his ideas would seem to be what I should like. But I have begun to wonder "who and what" will fill the vaccuum left in our wake if we were to reduce our global footprint to the extent that I believe he would like. That being said, I do think we are too involved in too many regions, and try and dictate too much to sovereign governments.

you saved me some typing.

i like Ron Paul, when i say he's a crackpot, keep in mind that i recognise that i myself am a crackpot too [Big Grin]

i think we should rerturn to a gold standard. meaning simply that our money be represented by real gold and silver holdings.

it would hurt alot to get back to that, therefore i am asking for pain, whch menas i am a crackpot. It would take full decade to transition "back" to having real money, but it would give our children and grandchildren a huge gift.

it's like "going green" with energy. we all KNOW for FACT that one day we will not have oil. why wait till it's all gone? soembody is going to have to pay to reinvent our tranportation system, why make our kids do it? because the economy is bad? LOL. Thats not a reason it's an excuses and excuses are like.......

I find him to be refreshing and loaded with common sense ideas...a bit quirky but who isn't [Big Grin]

Eliminate the IRS and the Federal Reserve...YES!!!

reduce spending and eliminate our debt...YES!!!

reduce the size and power of our government...HELL YES!!!

and...I have to say that on his foreign policy ideas, I also finding myself screaming a resounding...YES!!

The thing that I like most about Paul is that he is genuine...he says what he believes, even if he knows it will cost him votes.

Obama has signaled he will sign this legislation.

He's going to lose my vote no matter who runs against him if he does. The "problem:" is that I see Newt and Romney both as worse especially in this area.

I am relatively young and somewhat of a cynic, but I never would have thought this could have passed in this country. 97-3...... I think about 97 senators need to go as well.

This one bill pretty much repealed the bill of rights. Makes me wish a new continent would be discovered.

To me it is getting close to the point when the ruling elite are going to take the gloves off and this is proof enough for me. There are alot of other articals around if you research enough about any kind of class movements that are spreading across the country. This is formost with the FBI and others. They are monitoring the social movements in the country very intensely over the last 5 years.

Here is something else Republicans and Democrats agree on. Using GITMO!!!

"Barack Obama has abandoned a commitment to veto a new security law that allows the military to indefinitely detain without trial American terrorism suspects arrested on US soil who could then be shipped to Guantánamo Bay."

Military given go-ahead to detain US terrorist suspects without trial
